E-Mail I Received yesterday from an IFB Pastor:

Subject: Fw: Fw: THIS IS ABOUT THE BEST EMAIL I HAVE EVER RECEIVED

I think everyone on this planet needs to read this.

    GOD BLESS AMERICA!

There are a few things that those who have
recently come to our country, and apparently some native Americans, need to understand.

First of all, it is not our responsibility to continually try not to offend you in any way. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.

As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language, and our own lifestyle. This culture, called the "American Way" has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

Our forefathers fought, bled, and died at places such as Bunker Hill, San Juan, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Korea, Vietnam...

We speak English, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.

Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society -- learn our language!"

"In God We Trust" is our national motto.
This is not some off-the-wall, Christian, Right Wing, political slogan -- it is our national motto. It is engraved in stone in the House of Representatives in our Capitol and it is printed on our currency. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation and this is clearly documented throughout our history.

If it is appropriate for our motto to be inscribed in the halls of our highest level of Government, then it is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.

God is in our pledge, our National Anthem, nearly every patriotic song, and in our founding documents. We honor His birth, death, and resurrection as holidays, and we turn to Him in prayer in times of crisis. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture and we are proud to have Him.

We are proud of our heritage and those who have so honorably defended our freedoms. We celebrate
Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day,
and Flag Day. We have parades, picnics, and
barbecues where we proudly wave our flag.

As an American, I have the right to wave my flag, sing my national anthem, quote my national motto, and cite my pledge whenever and wherever I choose.

If the Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.

The American culture is our way of life,
our heritage, and we are proud of it.

We are happy with our culture and have no desire
to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. Like it or not, this is our country, our land, and our lifestyle.

Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion about our government, culture, or society, and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about
our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great American freedom:

    THE RIGHT TO LEAVE!

Another thing: To those who do complain about the usage of words like 'God' and 'American' and speaking the language of our great nation, TRY GOING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY AND SPEAK AGAINST WHAT YOU DON'T LIKE. YOU WILL MORE THAN LIKELY END UP JAILED OR EVEN KILLED.

In America, you take your right to complain for granted. The more patriotism that is removed from where our children are taught, the less our children will learn about what it is
to be an American and our nation's spirit will slowly be killed.

    Keep patriotism alive.

If you agree, pass this onto other Americans!
    (I'M SURE YOU DO !)

It is time to take a stand!
God Bless America and our Military and Veterans!

[IMG] You do know that Superman was not real don't you? :D

I could never send something like this out to anyone. Although for the most part I agree with it. There are undeniably some things in it that I am not in agreement about. But thank you for allowing me to read it here.

[IMG] Great words. I am in the Navy and I bitterly resent those that would presume that President Bush is some kind of cowboy. War is serious business and as a military member I can tell anyone that without a doubt, I have full confidence in our president. That confidence is increased furhter by the fact that this man, the most powerful person on the face of the earth, humbles himself in prayer before The Lord and seeks His guidance. Our president is on the verge of making the most important decision of his life. His decision will affect the lifes of thousands of people including my own. Let us, as believers, pray for our president.

What is good for the goose must be good for the gander.

So long as we want this standard for ourselves, we must uphold and respect it for others.

Or is not doing this so much part of the problem?

Are you willing to support something like the following, which is tailored from the above "Best E-Mail Ever Read"? If not, we should not expect to be supported ourselves.

    ----------------------------------

    ALLAH BLESS THE ISLAMIC NATIONS!

There are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some Americans, need to understand.

First of all, it is not our responsibility to continually try not to offend you in any way. This idea of your American values serve only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.

As Islamic nations, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language, and our own lifestyle. This culture, called the "Islamic Way" has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions
of men and women who have sought freedom.

Our forefathers fought, bled, and died at our own places, much as yours did on such places as Bunker Hill, San Juan, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Korea, Vietnam...

We speak Arabic and other languages, and many of us also speak English, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or many other languages.

Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society -- learn our language!" but also teach us yours.

"In Allah We Trust" is our sort of national motto. This is not some off-the-wall, Islamic, Extremist, political slogan -- it is our national motto. It is engraved in our hearts and our political capitals and mosques, and it is printed on some of our currency. We adopted this motto because Mohammed (peace be upon him) is God's final prophet, and we have founded our nations on the Koran. This is clearly documented throughout our histories. What is also clearly documented is your centuries long war against us to prevent us from living the Islamic Way. You have intervened in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Serbia, Jordan, Egypt, and all over our region. You have propped up Puppet dictator after Puppet dictator, and have prevented us from living our way of life. You have coerced your products into our region for your own sordid gain, and have thereby corrpted many of our youth, who now live like so many of your youth do.

If it is appropriate for sayings from the Koran to be inscribed in the halls of our highest level of Government, then it is certainly appropriate to teach it in our schools. Yet, you are a secular nation, in practice, and want ours to be that way as well.

Mohammed's name (peace be upon him) is in our pledges, our National Anthems, nearly every patriotic song, and in our founding documents. We honor his birth, death, and writings at our holidays, and we turn to Allah in prayer in times of crisis. What do you think, that we will invade America to force it to become Islamic? If Allah offends you, or our wanting Islamic States offends you, then I suggest you consider at least letting us have our own space to live as we please, because Allah is part of our culture and we are proud to have Him and to have been chosen by Him. We are happy to give you the same, if you will only allow us the same.

We are proud of our heritage and those who have so honorably defended the Name of Allah and our ways of life. We celebrate Ramadan, and many other holy holidays. We have parades, feasts and religious services where we proudly wave our flags, and worship.

As Islamic nations, we have the right to wave our flags, sing our national anthems, quote our national mottos and the Koran, and cite our pledge whenever and wherever we choose. We do not want to be secularized.

If our ideals offend you, or you don't like Allah or his Prohpet (peace be upon him), then we ask you to seriously consider at least letting us have our own space. We ask you to respect our sovereignties.

The Islamic culture is our way of life, our heritage, and we are proud of it. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change. While we can respect how you do things where you came from, like it or not, this is our country, our land, and our lifestyle.

Your First Amendment and other ideals have been derived from your own history and way of life. We consider national unity to primal. Once you are done criticizing our flags, our pledges, our national mottos, or our ways of life, we highly encourage you to please stop intervening in our affairs, and let our own people be the masters of their own destinies.

WE ARE SPEAKING ABOUT THE RIGHT FOR YOU TO LEAVE US TO OUR OWN OWN WAY OF LIFE AND TO LET US HAVE NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY!

Another thing: To those who do complain about the usage of words like 'Allah' and 'Mohamedd' and speaking the language of our Islamic nations, TRY NOT COMING TO OUR CONTRIES TO SUBVERT OUT NATIONAL SOVERIGHNTY AND IDENTITIES. IF PEOPLE DO THIS TO YOU IN YOUR COUNTRY, DO YOU NOT JAIL AND EVEN KILL SOME? And yet you would crticize us for doing the same.

In America, you have one standard for yourselves, but apply a very different standard to others. It is hypocricy. You more seem to just want what you want, and are willignto declare American-jihad to obtain it.

The more patriotism that is removed from where our children are taught, the less our children will learn about what it is to be Islamic, and our nations spirits will slowly be killed. Yet you will ot respect our wishes in these regards. You want us to have American vlaues, American regimes, American products, and American economics. But we want to keep Islamic patriotism alive.

If you agree and are not a hypcrite, pass this onto other Americans!

(I'M SURE YOU DO!--who wants to be a hypocrite?)

Otherwise, we are afraid that it is time for us to take a stand!

Allah Bless the Islamic Nations and our Military and Veterans!

    ------------------------------------------

Like I said, what is good for the goose must be good for the gander. So long as we want one standard for ourselves, we must uphold and respect it for others. Or is our hypocisy so much part of the problem? Too often, we fail to see history from the underside, and fail to see how we are perceived. Failing to see this, we are arrogant. But again, what is good for the goose must be good for the gander.

In the spirit of free speech, Anthro, let me respond to a bit of your post:

So long as we want this standard for ourselves, we must uphold and respect it for others.

    no problem

    ALLAH BLESS THE ISLAMIC NATIONS!

There are a few things that those who have
recently come to our country, and apparently some Americans, need to understand.

First of all, it is not our responsibility to continually try not to offend you in any way. This idea of your American values serve only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.

It would just be awfully nice if you (in Islamic countries) gave us the same rights we give you here: the right to practice your faith, build your mosques, distribute your literature -- things like that. However, in your country, we are jailed, tortured and killed if we attempt anything of the sort. Your own citizens are executed if they choose another faith other than the state religion. If you want to play equal, then play equal.

As Islamic nations, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language, and our own lifestyle. This culture, called the "Islamic Way" has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions
of men and women who have sought freedom.

That is an absolute mistatement of fact. Islam has been spread by the sword. It has nothing to do with freedom. It has to do with 'might makes right'. The "Islamic way", as exemplified by Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, etc., is to jail and kill those who don't agree with you. This is not the product of men and women seeking freedom, but of men and woman losing it.

Our forefathers fought, bled, and died at places much as yours did on such places as Bunker Hill, San Juan, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Korea, Vietnam...

Extremely doubtful. I would love to see evidence of Muslims fighting on the side of America at Bunker Hill, San Juan, Iwo Jima, or Normandy. There is a chance some were in Korea and Vietnam...but were they fighting on our side?

I am aware of the early Muslims conquering Spain and northern Africa by force, as well as the Middle East -- is that what you are trying to get at?

We speak Arabic and other languages, and many of us also speak English, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or many other languages.

Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society -- learn our language!" but also teach us yours.

    We do. We have.

What is also clearly documented is your centuries long war against us to prevent us from living this way. You have intervened in Turkey, Serbia, Jordan, Egypt, and have proped up Puppet dictators there and in Iran and have prevented us from living our way of life.

    1. You live the Muslim way of life quite nicely in the Middle Eastern nations.

    2. We have not promoted terrorism in your countries as you have in ours.

    3. We do not train young children to be suicide bomb carriers against your civilians.

    4. You are free to practice your religion in our country, too.

    5. We don't hijack your planes and run them into towers where civilians work.

    6. You massacre entire groups of people within your own borders who do not agree with you. And then you scream when people like the Kurds scream for help -- at least the ones you have left alive are screaming.

is there a need to go on?

If it is appropriate for our motto to be inscribed in the halls of our highest level of Government, then it is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.

I'm quite sure it is. What is your point?

Mohammed's name (peace be upon him) is in our pledges, our National Anthems, nearly every patriotic song, and in our founding documents. We honor his birth, death, and writings
at our holidays, and we turn to Allah in prayer in times of crisis.

Whose propaganda are you believing? You have your own space. You have your own nations. If you could invade America I'm sure you would; as it is, you have terrorist cells all over our country, waiting to strike. We would appreciate being allowed to live in freedom from you and yours, thank you!

We are proud of our heritage and those who have so honorably defended our freedoms. We celebrate
Ramadan, and many other holy holidays. We have parades, feasts and religious services where we proudly wave our flags and worship.

What freedoms? And who, in the United States or in your country is forbidding you to celebrate your holidays, have parades, feasts, religious services, or wave what flags you choose? It is you who forbid all these things to Americans living or working in your Islamic countries.

As Islamic nations, we have the right to wave our flags, sing our national anthems, quote our national mottos and the Koran, and cite our pledge whenever and wherever we choose.

If our ideals offend you, or you don't like Allah or his Prohpet (peace be upon him), then we ask you to seriously consider at least letting us have our own space. We ask you respect our sovereignties.

You can have your Allah and your prophet (who is burning in hell and definitely NOT at peace!). And you have your own space. However when your so-called sovereignties insist on developing biological and chemical weapons for the express purpose of using them against us, you will, please, try to understand that we reserve the right to object, and not just verbally. We definitely reserve the right to defend ourselves against the threats promoted by your leaders living in your space and doing such damage to ours.

The Islamic culture is our way of life, our heritage, and we are proud of it.

From what I have seen and heard, actually, quite a few Muslims are ashamed of it.

We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change. While we can respect how you do things where you came from, like it or not, this is our country, our land, and our lifestyle.

Which is, of course, why the people in Afghanistan are begging us to stay; which is why those free from Iraqi reprisals are saying they know that the population will rise up and welcome the Americans when they have been freed; which is why the women are longing for a time when they can walk about freely and be educated and use the brains their Creator gave them instead of being treated like cattle.

No, you are wrong. Our First Amendment PRODUCED the freedom which resulted in our history and way of life. In the meantime, the Islamic idea of national unity is to kill anyone voicing any disagreement. You don't mind if they object to that, do you?

We would be MORE than happy to stop 'intervening' in your affairs if your affairs did not involve killing our citizens, training terrorists to destroy people and buildings in our country, and developing weapons of mass destruction primarily for attacking the west.

In short, give us the freedoms you take for granted from us; give us the respect you demand from us; allow us the safety you also want, and we will buy your oil, so you can get rich, and we will all live happily ever after. Oh yeah, stop killing entire groups of people within your borders because you don't agree with them, OK? It is really hard for us to ignore cries for help when we see the blood baths you are engendering.

WE ARE SPEAKING ABOUT THE RIGHT FOR YOU TO LEAVE US TO OUR OWN OWN WAY OF LIFE AND TO LET US HAVE NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY!

Hey, go for it! Just quit threatening the rest of us and things will be fine.

Use those words all you want. Speak whatever language you want. We don't care. And no, no one in our country is jailed for political statements or even propaganda. We jail people for terrorist acts. We jail people for killing other people. We jail people for attempting to kill other people. We just have this weird thing about the safety of our citizens over here. I know you probably don't understand it, considering what you do to your own citizens, but you sure seem to appreciate it when you are IN our country!

In America, you have one standard for yourselves, but apply a very different standard to others. It is hypocricy. You more seem to just want what you want, and are willignto declare American-jihad to obtain it.

Again, what sort of propaganda are YOU believing? We have Muslims in our public schools, who actively practice their faith and customs. And it is illegal for them to be discriminated against. We have mosques in probably every large city and a good many smaller ones. Those of Islamic faith are free to come and go, although it is true we are all a bit more nervous about them than we were before September 11, 2001. Try to understand that...

But there are equal rights for EVERY person in this country, citizen or not, when it comes to the legal system. There are open jury trials no matter what nationality you are if you are arrested for a crime. There are no higher fines levied (when that is the punishment) for one group than for another. I have no idea where you are getting your information, but living in a state with a VERY high percentage of non-native and non-Christian folk, I have been very aware of the fact that even the illegal aliens here get better treatment than you give your own citizens, let alone any visitors!

Which makes me wonder -- how many people from other countries are lining up to get into Iran or Iraq the way they line up to get into the United States? How much of a problem do you have will illegal immigrants who are so desperate to live in one of your countries that they risk illegal activities to do it?

The more patriotism that is removed from where our children are taught, the less our children will learn about what it is to be Islamic, and our nations spirits will slowly be killed. Yet you will ot respect our wishes in these regards. You want us to have American vlaues, American regimes, American products, and American economics. But we want to keep Islamic patriotism alive.

Hey, we are not pushing American on you! Who is building the shopping malls? You are. We do not force anything American on any of you. Your people are grabbing for it despite you. Don't blame us if they want something other that your precious national unity and the female slavery you've got! Don't blame us if YOUR people want what we have! Believe me, we would all much rather not have our young men over there. But we just have this thing about being subjected to biological and chemical attacks.

Considering the way you guys are willing to attack your own, I should think you would be nervous about that, too! When you can control your own leaders and not be a threat to the entire world, we will be more than happy to leave you alone!

Will I pass your nonsense on to others? No.

Do I have the freedom to? Yes.

    Quite different from your country.

Have you ever lived in the M.E. over an extended period and/or spent extended time studying works from people who have long-term studied their culture from within from a point of actually trying to deeply understand it and their conceptions and to convey them cross-culturally? Could you list some of those works and your experience if you have?

    And, to continue giving voice:

    -------------------

"First, please do not blaspheme against the name of Mohamed (peace be upon him). It causes us pain. If you wish to engage in respectful dialog about him, I am sure we can find a forum. We do respect Jesus very much, and never blaspheme against him. We consider him to be an important prophet; so, perhaps that can be part of a basis for dialog sometime. At any rate, how can you possibly expect us to be friendly toward your missionaries when you blaspheme against Mohamed (peace be upon him) the way you have?"

"Second, is it that you are saying that you Americans have the right to intervene in our affairs to bring what you want into our sovereign territories? Is it that you are saying that you think you can bring about democracy in the Middle East through non-democratic means? How does this not violate your own principles on a fundamental level, and how can it not gain you many enemies?

"Would not change in our societies belong to a majority among our own people to bring about, just as it has been and is in your country? Did not even the people in your own American Revolution bring about their own change, and against overwhelming odds to boot?

"Most of us disdain and condemn 9/11, and thought the Taliban took things too far. But what has given you and gives you the right to intervene in our affairs all over the Middle East over scores and years? If you say your country has not not or does not intervene like this, I am afraid you are exhibiting the most profound ignorance and naiveté."

Why is it that when Americans live in a foreign country they are forced to abide by the laws and customs of that country. Yet when people from those counties live in America they are unwilling to adapt to the American way?

On some countries American military bases are forbidden to display the American flag, yet in America any flag may be displayed.

In most Muslim countries one is forbidden to proclaim Chrstianity, but in America Muslims are free to worship as they please. Yes, and they have even abused this privilege by turning their places of worship into terroist cells, yet they are still allowed to maintain their palces of worship. No one in America has been imprisoned for being Muslim, yet in Muslim countries Christians are murdered.

Oh yes, Islam must surely be the religion of peace. Maybe Islam has no concept of what peace really is. Sadly, Islams don't know the peace of God which passeth all understanding. It is my prayer that all Muslims come to know the one true God who offers life everlasting and true peace. through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of Jehovah God..

Islam claims to be peaceful, yet murders thousands in the name of Allah.

    More voice:

    "Mr. Brazee.

"You are correct that many of us do not like American flags on military bases in our countries, lest the bases themselves. You have to understand that we value the Unity of the Faith more than what you call 'multi-culturalism.' We want very much to maintain our founding religious roots and Islamic way of life. As we study it, 'multiculturalism' degrades societies away from their roots and founding faith. Don't you agree, and do you not argue these very same things concerning your country? So it should not be suprising to you that many of us consider efforts of foreigners to make our societies 'multi-cultural' illegal, and that we punish for it.

"At any rate, no Middle Eastern country has a military base on American territory, while American bases are on many of our territories. So, I fail to see your correlation.

"You are also correct that in the past many of our forefathers spread Islam by the sword. But you must keep in mind that, in the past, Christians have done this as well. Perhaps you need to be reminded of Chistianity's long history of doing this. Perhaps you might recall again the Crusades. Perhaps you might also recall the era of European colonialisation. By all official counts, more have been murdered in the spread of Christianity than in Islam, many, many times over.

"Today, Islam is very much more likely to be spread by popular consent than by the sword. You might consider Indonesia and Northern Nigeria in this regard, just for two examples. Much like you Christians do, we Muslims spend billions on charity works which make way for the message of Allah in places where He is not adequately known. Will you respect this?

"Let me also tell you all my name. You may call me am Ishmael Farad, and I am trying my best to give voice to the conceptions of my people of the Middle East."

Your logic continues to fall through. You say that Americans must live by the laws of other countries while residing there, and then leap from "abide by the laws" to "are unwilling to adapt (you probably meant "adopt," because adapting can entail rejecting American culture and retaining one's one amid a community of one's own) to the American Way."

You are comparing apples and oranges and building a straw man. Fact is, the general rule the world over is that foreign citizens in given countries must abide by the laws of the countries in which they reside. And by mutual consent, this is widely upheld among nations, even unfriendly ones, since to not do so erodes each's ability to uphold their laws in these regards. It is tit for tat.

Don't believe me that foreigners are required to live by U.S. laws? Consider the following:

Farmworker Blames Murder on Voodoo Hex

    Tuesday March 11, 2003 6:10 PM

ALBANY, Ga. (AP) - A Haitian immigrant farmworker told a judge he killed one man and wounded two others because he believed they had placed a voodoo hex on him.

Reynold Calixte, 43, pleaded guilty but mentally ill last week to murder and aggravated assault and was sentenced to life in prison.

Calixte shot Stephen Dameus, cut his throat and stabbed him in the chest in a motel in 2001. He also attacked two men he believed helped Dameus,
shooting one in the foot and the other in the abdomen.

Calixte believed Dameus had put a fatal hex on him by sprinkling black powder on his bus seat, shoes and pillow, prosecutor Gregory Edwards said.

Defense attorney Willie Weaver said Calixte thought the only way to save his life was to kill Dameus. He did not have enough money to return to Haiti and see a witch doctor to lift the curse, the lawyer said.

Calixte cut his own throat during the attack and asked officers to kill him when they arrived.

    --------------------------

In Calixte's mind, being how he grew up in his particular culture and had scant knowledge of ours, this was certainly a real-deal life-or-death matter of self-defense, while the only legal defense option probably really was "mentally ill," like his lawyer tried to argue.

As I said Athro, which you have ignored completely, all religions are allowed in America, while in Indonesia tne Muslims have murdered Christians because they were Christians. When has the USA murdered someone because of religious beliefs? In all truth this is why the US is hated by Muslims...because we allow free expression of ideas and welcome all. In Muslim countries people are opressed and murdered for expressing themselves. You may bring Islam to the US, but Christianity is frobidden in Muslim countries....who Mr Athro is the opressor?

Oh, one more thing...what do have against liberty, and free expression?

Jesus rose from the grave and lives at the right hand of God. Mohamed is dead.

    Anthro,
Your profile shows you are and Independent Baptist. One would never know it by reading what you post. BTW, which baptist mosque do you attend?

    Mr Herrington:

Or is it that I am thinking more in a long-term kingdom strategy of World Evangelization instead of surfacy stuff? You appear to miss the whole point.

    Mr. Brazee,

Obviously, I have no personal problem with liberty and free expression. I am excercising it. But you miss the point.

Obviously also, I agree that Christ lives and Mohamed is dead. But to focus on that is to entirely and again miss my whole point and points.

I did not at all ignore the matter you raised about all religions are allowed in America. "Ismail Farad" addressed it head on in the very first paragraph. Perhaps you missed it. Here it is again:

I'll wait to respond to you further when you address this, and perhaps the others points as well.

Maybe, since two of us miss the point, you are not being clear.

I have been a Christian for a long time and I have been exposed to, at least, some diversity of beliefs, however, this is something that is new.

Oh c'mon. You're intelligent. What do you think the point is? You cannot possibly believe I am some sort of syncretic Baptist/Muslim.

    Anthro,
I do not know what type of person you are. I can only judge you by what you post. I would not, off the top of my head, believe that you, or any other person, could reconcile both baptist and Muslim beliefs into one entity. But, reading your posts could lead one to possibly think that this is your intent. [IMG]
