Should you not love your neighbor as yourself? Neighboring countries as your own? In this global age, who do you exclude?

In your Proletarian Internationalism you assume that because I am patriotic that I must exclude someone else. As I am against this marxist ideology I have the ability to Love my country without having to speak to others in the same breath. Its not necessary, nor does it imply that I disregard others.

I pray that God Blesses my family. It is not necessary that I add every family in the whole world in that same breath. The same goes for America. I can pray that God blesses America without speaking to anyone else in the same breath. It neither speaks against anyone else or gives any intent as to my concern for them. And since this thread was about saying God bless America and not whether you like the phrase or not you have highjacked this thread with your marxist propoganda.

I wouldn't say that we should have to include verbally every other nation when we say God bless America.

    But...

The attitude of "God bless America and nowhere else" is blatantly wrong.

Several pages of debate about a simple statement like "God bless America" illustrates best our penchant to be nonconstrutively argumentative.

No one. I was simply stating my position.

When Vera said she couldn't say bless America only, she was denouncing "God bless America and no one else." Mine was just stating that position in a different sentence.

I do think America is a good country, but I have no problem saying "God bless" somewhere else.

They were quoting the same movie I was. This was the words of Chris Rock's opponent. This was when Chris says, "God bless America and every place else!"

Interesting how RM thinks that asking God's blessing on others constitutes "Marxist propaganda". I guess Jesus must have been a Marxist propagandist too then.

Your own words coming back at you continue to convict you. If you don't type what you mean, here's a novel idea...stop and think before typing them. We can only go by your words.

RM, I truly hope God blesses you and your family...perhaps that makes me a Marxist as well. :)

I did not type what you said I did. You took a part of an entire statement and put it in an entirely different context.

What is a marxist idea is that it is somehow wrong to say God Bless America. It is wrong only to at any point in time or even for a moment to consider only America. This is false. It is not wrong. It is not wrong to consider individual needs, as a person, as a family, and as a country. marxist ideology says you must always consider everyone. No truth in that.

There is also no truth in the idea that to take a moment to consider indivual needs whether it be as a person, as a family, or as a country, that you are not wanting to acknowledge others. This is propoganda used to demonize patriotism. There is a time for global considerations and there is time for individual consideration.

Twist away if you must. It is only a reflection on you.

Interesting. Where in the writings of Karl Marx did he say such a thing?

Or maybe it was Groucho Marx?

Why should God bless the world?

In my Bible, God has enacted Judgment on the whole world by flooding it and in the end, He will do the same by fire!!! Nowhere in my Bible does it say God intends to bless the whole planet. In fact, the Bible says the NATIONS will be JUDGED!!!

God has blessed America in a special way because Americans have, through the years, sent missionaries throughout the whole world to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God is probably withholding his wrath and judgment on America for her many sins at this very moment ONLY because of all the Christians who live here and because we have been benovolent to Israel, not because America is faultless and sinless and our government is perfect.

There is absolutly nothing wrong with saying "God Bless America" and it is absurd to hijick this thread to cast aspersion on someone who expresses American patriotism.

LE, that is your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but that is all it is.

First of all, I don't think anyone here has said there is anything wrong with it. Secondly, I also see no aspersions cast against anyone for it. Some of us have just tried to expand the thought to ask God to bless all the people of the Earth. I think Jesus would do likewise.

Really! Let us count the aspersions together:

    Aspersion # 1

    Aspersion # 2

    Aspersion # 3

    Aspersion # 4

    Aspersion # 5

    Aspersion # 6

    Aspersion # 7

    Aspersion # 8

Aspersion #8 (As well as a misrepresentation od what I said)

    Aspersion # 10 (again a misrepresentation)

And then there was the final spin.

All of the above aspersions were intent on demonizing American patriotism as well as hijacking this thread.

    The op is as follows:

If you cannot mean it because of some social neanderthal mentality then you should not work to move the thread to a patriot bashing scenario. If you dont like American Patriotism then start a thread on that subject. You can be sure I will leave you to your depravity.
