Why should God bless a country that spits in His face?

 

Indeed God bless America and God HAS blessed America!

This nation started in the LATE 18th century and rose in a short period of time - from absolutly nothing - into THE ONE and only Super Power (the Hyper Power according to the Brits) of the planet.

Only God could have done such a thing.

This nation was nothing when it decided to challenge the most powerful empire on earth at the time for its independence.

This nation was almost nothing at the start of WW I and yet it played a key role in deciding that war.

God has blessed and protected America for many reasons - not the least of which is religious liberty, protestantism, principles of Democracy and the Replican form of government (the model not necessarily the party).

Yes! God bless America and those that strive to follow and serve him all over the world!!!

Brothers and sisters.. patriotism is a virtue and nationalism is a vice. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. A just love for our country (patriotism) seeks reform, not rejection.

Regardless of naysayers like Tuor, this is still the best country that has ever existed on the face of God's good earth.

with a much needed Holy Spirit conviction of sin that men and women might turn from their wicked ways, pursuit of evil, and rejection of the Law of God and turn to Christ as Savior.

THAT, my dear brothers and sisters, would be the greatest blessing God could give us.

And would indeed be all of grace to sinners most undeserving.

This country is in total rebellion to God and anyone who has eyes to see knows this to be true. What must be, must be.

 

Frankly, the technical term for that comment is baloney. And anyone with a lick of sense knows it is. Six judges on the U.S. Supreme Court make a ruling that some right-wingers don't like and they crawl out of the woodwork, panicking, and crying "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!" And it's probably the gazillionth time that 'fraidy cats like that have written off America since 1776. Let 'em crawl into a corner and hide. It's where they belong.

America was built by those who had enough faith in God to trust Him to get us out of any fix we might get into. And I stand with that group, not the 'fraidy cats!

 

Since total would have to mean all 280,000,000 people in this country, that would have to include you, Tuor. Repent, Tuor, repent and cease your rebellion against God!

 

You must think me pretty shallow if you think my view of this country has to do with the supreme court case.

I am talking about American society in general. Yes, there is a minority who follow God, but the majority reject Him.

 

Maybe you could step back from your little pessimestic view and open your eyes to what God has given us! A president that loves God, a country (land that is beautiful), and a nation that is diverese. We are not in oppression. We do not need to hide our Bibles, and we do not have to have secret services. For as many faults this country may have, at least we have freedom...The freedom to speak God's name, the freedom to love Him and live our lives without fear of what will happen if the government finds out.

Get off your high horse and start thanking God for what He has blessed this country with. And I will join in with the rest when I say, God bless America!

Yes, the US is a beautiful nation, but that is no reason for God to bless it.

Most of the diversity is in direct rebellion to God.

Oh boy!!! Where exactly in the Bible does it state that freedom is something that in itself is worthy of God's blessing?

One is always free to speak God's name. One might get killed for it, but one is still free to do it. It seems to me that your views, like many I've run across, are very materialistic on this matter.

I was not aware of the fact that "God bless America" is equivaltent to "thanking God for what He has blessed this country with".

 

I pity you, Tuor, I really do. You are in a constant pity party. To illustrate, you are like a man who owns a $100,000 house but he can't enjoy it because it's not a $200,000 house.

I see in your profile that you are a teacher. Do you teach in this same dour manner?

I honestly don't understand why you don't leave the U.S. and go try to find a country where you would be happy. Then again, your pity party attitude would be going with you, so I doubt anything would change for the better for you in another country.

I'll give you a verse, Tuor. Study it. Maybe it will help you as I am sure you want to obey the Lord.

The only reason why you pity me is because you don't understand what I'm saying. There is much in life to celebrate and enjoy. God has given me much in many areas of my life and I am thankful for it.

The difference between me and others around here seems to be that I don't combine God and country. The myth that one must love one's country and God was spun by Satan.

God's truth states that we are to love God, not our society.

 

Personally, I would agree that America is going down the wrong path. God has blessed it, but we need to wake up to it. My prayer is that America will one day change its ways and return to the Lord.
