    1 Corinthians 9:22
To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.

Does this mean I should become an adulterer, a fornicator, a homosexual, a murder, a backbiter, a cheat, a theif, a liar, a menstealer, abuser of myself and oppressor of others, so that all of these people may be won for Christ?

No where are we granted authority to ignore the Law of God or to break the law of God to bring the lost under even the sound of the Gospel.

    1 Corinthians 9:20-21
To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law.

Why do interpretations get so skewed?? I was never implying that Frogman, nor do I think the Bible implies that. I have NO PROBLEM whatsoever showing what the Bible says on the issue of homosexuality, however, I would do so in LOVE. What that means to each person I don't know. What it means to me is that I'm not going to beat a gay person over the head with my Bible. I'm going to point out the verses that need to be pointed out and then I'm going to be their friend. Period.

Why do you think that I am violent? This is two times the word 'beat' has been used in a post replying to me

I am only 5'6" tall weighing only 140 lbs. How could I be violent?

Well, I have never 'beat' anyone over the head with my Bible either; I respect my Bible too much to do that [IMG]

Thank God that's one thought that doesn't just occasionally pop up..... That's a sin against nature and it is a forgivable sin... You must repent and depart from it's practice....

...hate the sin and love the sinner.

I have seen many threads about this subject both here and on secular boards.

Recently I came across a Biblical passage that I heretofore had not noticed. It might apply to this discussion of not only this cliche, but the subject at hand per the topic of this thread.

    Jude 1:21-23 (New Living Translation)
21 Live in such a way that God's love can bless you as you wait for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to give you. 22 Show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. 23 Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. There are still others to whom you need to show mercy, but be careful that you aren't contaminated by their sins.[/QUOTE]

Now since my source is a study Bible, the notes at the bottom explain this passage (1:22,23) is as follows:
One of the scriptural references to Jude 1:23 is Amos 4:11 which states:
If this reference verse makes reference to Sodom and Gomorrah, it would seem applicable to the sin of homosexuality and then Jude 1:23 seems more clear as to what might be included in the snatching away from destruction as long as we are careful not to be contaminated by their sin.

As to the reference in the notes "to hate the sin and love the sinner", I am still at a loss as to where that can be justified as scriptural.

Can anyone offer any further direction as to clarifying this seemingly oxymoron???
