I just heard an amazing testimony about a former satanist. He wrote it to a Christian TV station. He said that he stole a King James Version Holy Bible (these are his words [IMG] ) to use it in a satanic ceremony. At home he started to read in it and finally repented of his sin and followed Jesus. Hallelujah!!!

Now, I don´t post this to tell everyone that you can only get saved by reading a KJV  But this testimony shows me that God still uses the "old book" to get people saved. I mean... that guy wrote a letter about his salvation. He didn´t not write: " I stole a KJV to use it at a satanic ceremony... but we did´t use it because of the archaic words..."

    He got saved!!!!

    Be blessed.

There is no-doubt in my mind that one can be 'saved' through the KJV or the NIV or whatever...still, the KJV is outdated, beautifully written, yes, used by God for centuries, yes, but outdated now...unless of course, one still believes in UNICORNS...

(Num 23:22 KJV) God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.

(Num 24:8 KJV) God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

(Job 39:9-10 KJV) Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? {10} Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

(Psa 29:6 KJV) He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

(Psa 92:10 KJV) But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

What do you mean... are you trying to tell me... I mean... that there are no unicorns ? :D

I am just excited that God doesn´t not care about the archaic words (and, yes, they are archaic) but uses the KJV to bless people [IMG]

According to Riplinger, unicorns are satanic and occultic. I wonder what conspiracy they were part of.

Satyrs, dragons, and unicorns are all creatures that appear in the KJV.

As much as some try, God cannot be confined to any one version of the bible. In fact, God cannot be confined by anything! Praise God that someone got saved; I don't care if he was reading a Jehovah's Witness bible, he got saved!

This is a wonderful thing-- if it is true. And it will take more than hearsay about someone's letter to show that with any competence at all. Remember when Larry Flynt claimed a salvation experience brought about by Jimmy Carter's sister and "faith-healer," Ruth [Somthing]?

It is not only hearsay, the host of the Christian TV Broadcast received that testimony by the satanist.

Let me post once again why I posted this topic:

I did not want to argue abour unicorns or dragons (by the way... do you know a good word to explain dinosaurs?)
There are a lot of people posting that belive that God cannot use the NIV & Co. because it is too loose. But people get saved through it.
There are a lot of people posting that believe that God canot use the KJV because of the archaic words. But God still uses that "old book". That was my point. Isn´t it great!!!

    Be blessed.

For those who love the KJV, there are attempts to upgrade the language yet retain the essence of the KJ version.http://www.tmbible.com/

Of course people can be saved through reading "the old book." I don't think that's ever been disputed by those who prefer modern versions.

by the way... do you know a good word to explain dinosaurs?)

Dinosaurs aren't mentioned because they weren't nown about when the OT was penned.

But do you mean "large" dinosaurs like the ones that we see on the movie screen, or the thousands of other dinosaurs that were the same size as animals running around today?

    Johnv,

Regarding dinosaurs and the Bible, read what God said about behemoth in Job 40:15 (any version). There are no non-extinct animals that fit this description (cedar-like tail). Many commentaries say Hippo or Elephant, both of which have very small tails. Many reputable creation scientists say this may be a reference to a brachiosaur. A simple search on the web will turn-up a variety of websites on the subject like this one: www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-c004.html. The fact is that even modern biblical scholars hesitate to change the KJB rendering of the Hebrew word “behemowth” given its descriptive terms. There are many other evidences that dinosaurs have lived with man such as the thousands of Inca burial stones: www.creationists.org/livedinos01.html.

Yes friends, according to the King James Version, dragons exist(ed)!

(Deu 32:33 KJV) Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

(Job 30:29 KJV) I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.

(Psa 44:19 KJV) Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.

(Psa 74:13 KJV) Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

(Psa 148:7 KJV) Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:

(Isa 13:22 KJV) And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

(Isa 34:13 KJV) And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls.

(Isa 35:7 KJV) And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

(Isa 43:20 KJV) The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

(Jer 9:11 KJV) And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.

(Jer 10:22 KJV) Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.

(Jer 14:6 KJV) And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.

(Jer 49:33 KJV) And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.

(Jer 51:37 KJV) And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwellingplace for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.

(Micah 1:8 KJV) Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and mourning as the owls.

(Mal 1:3 KJV) And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
