How do you think God sees you? What do you think His opinion is you?

He loves me but he wishes I would be more consistent in my Christian walk. He wants be to move on to the meat and get off the milk forever.

He sees me soaking wet and red - covered by Christ's blood.

He never sees me because Jesus stands in front of me screening my unworthiness from God's eye.

**Nate I know what you meant but boy was that graphic and gross [IMG]

I meant not only that we are justified, but I meant for it to sound graphic and gross. For me, that helps me think about the actual sacrifice that Jesus made. It wasn't just a paper cut that caused Him to spill a little blood and God say "Ok, that's good."

Not to get into an argument over this sematics since I think we totally agree. But I have always taken issue with people saying "we are covered with Jesus" or "God sees us with Blood-tinted glasses". I think that is wrong because it still has US in the picture and God doesn't see us, our shape, our form, nothing...He sees just Jesus. So I liken it to us standing behind Jesus and when God looks at me...He sees Jesus! Now once I get to heaven and have a perfect sinless body then God will/can see me but until then when Martin (that's what I call myself) messes up and allows sin to have dominance that I don't have to worry about it because I'm viewed as Jesus and have Jesus as my Intercessor. **Plus it's less graphic ;)

Note: "when I say I don't have to worry about it"...I'm not talking about "living in sin to get more grace" (Romans 6) but that it doesn't matter whither I live totally surrendered to God or in total rebellion that God sees me as Jesus. As a Christian I should be striving to live the life that is pleasing to God and brings glory and honor but it is nice to know that when I mess up it is still Jesus standing between me and God!

God does see us through blood stained glasses. We have access to the Father through Jesus. The Father sees us as we will one day be...Perfect. When He sees the blood of Christ He sees that all is forgiven.

I agree that the Father cannot tolerate sinful man in His presence. However when seeing us through the blood of His Son,we are covered by the imputed righteousness of Christ. We are told in many cases in scripture that God sees us as the finished product through Christ. The father desires we should pray to Him. Jesus told us how. The Father sees us alright. And it is through the shed blood of Christ.

After the resurrection, we will be as Christ. A joint heir to the kingdom of heaven. We will beable to enter into the direct presence of the Father. However, for now in this body God will see us through the blood of Christ.
