I ran across this article (more like a book) today on the internet and thought I would share it with everybody here:

It has some of the best comparison information regarding the different versions that I have ever seen. The information is very up to date, even covering newer translations such as the ESV and the HCSB. I am still in the process of reading through it (there is a lot of stuff here), but would enjoy hearing comments about it.

His notion of "orthodox theology" is not mine, but leaving his resultant dissing of the NAB and the NRSV aside, it certainly looks like a useful analysis and discussion.

thx for the post! i loved the breadth of the study--most ppl here get hung up on textual basis, which accounts for only abt 2% of what u see.

the rest is translation method, English style, etc. woo hoo, this is wicked good stuff!

Yes, I have been too. I didn't even realize that he was a Baptist when I found his site. He appears to be about 28 or 29 years old. I am very impressed with the amount of research that this young brother has done - not only in the bible version arena, but also the other information he has available on his site.

I am glad that this has been a worthwhile find.
