Hope you enjoy the book, Jim! Anything that Ron Rhodes write is excellent, I guarantee it!

I do see you are familiar with some cultic stuff - Mme Blavatsky -- my goodness! There's an excellent book about her and the whole Theosophical Society I've been reading off and on for the past few years. It's very amusing (it's by a secular author) and shows all the ups and downs of this group. It's actually hilarious in some places. It's called
Madame Blavatsky's Baboon: A History of the Mystics, Mediums, and Misfits Who Brought Spiritualism to America by Peter Washington.

    Marcia,

I had been interested in angelology for about ten years and then my strokes broke up my serious studies. I was getting back into it about 3 years ago.

I still don't know a lot, but I am fairly convinced they don't have wings or wear halos.

Madame Blavatsky's personal life is a nightmare in itself. She did have royal upbringing, but her three marriages and claims on virginity leave a few doubts in my mind. She mixed up with a few false religions before she settled on Theosophy. Oh what a tangled tale we weave when at best we tend to deceive.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Amen, Brother Jim!

Enjoy getting back into your angelogy studies. And think about getting that Rose brochure, too, if nothing than to read the answer to question 6 that I wrote! I gave one to my pastor and he said he was going to look through it. He's going to talk on angels in an upcoming sermon (we're going through Paul Little's Know What You Believe in our church and angels is one of the chapters).

I dont know alot about angels but what part I do know is they are created spiritual and intellectual beings. The original meaning of the word angel is King, then Messenger. The Hebrew word is Malach and the Greek word is Aggello. There are 3 orders, or groups of angels. Those that minister to God in the realm of spirit those ministering to God in the realm of mind and those ministering to God in the realm of material. Each have their specific work to do. There are Archangels those are Michael and Gaberiel and of course so was Lucifer. Michael is over the realm of spirit and his name means one like God, he will be the one to sound the trumpet calling everyone from their graves to heaven. Gabriel is over the realm of intelligence and his name means hero of God his name only appears 4 times in the scriptures. Lucifer the Hebrew name is Halael and means shining one and he was over the material realm of creation to minister for God in it. Lucifer was ambitious and wanted to take over the realm of Michael and Gabriel Jude 6 and Isaiah 14:12, by these two passages it shows two things first , they had their own respective habitation or realm, and second they left this habitation. I will be like the most high (the hebrew language says the most high ones). Then Ezekiel 28:11-26 tells of his downfall. I could put more but this is getting too long now.
