    IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

    January 17, 2007


    Mr. KING of Iowa introduced the following joint resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

    JOINT RESOLUTION​


    Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article of amendment.

    Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled (two-thirds of each House concurring therein), That the following article is proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years after the date of its submission for ratification:​
    `Article--
    `The sixteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.'.

    Amendment XVI

    The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

    Democrats will never go along with this. They would not be able to fund all the entitlement programs.

    H.J.RES.16 is a proposal to limit terms in office. House members to 4 year terms and both houses 2 consecutive terms.

    Neither party will cut the funds that pay their salery.

    That would be like you telling your boss that he can keep his money. :flower:

    NOT going to happen, ever ever. Better spend time advocating for a flat tax then the unrealistic NO-tax
