Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman threatened Monday afternoon that he would file articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he institutes gun control measures with an executive order.

Stockman warned that such executive orders would be “unconstitutional” and “infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.”

“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement.

I think it will be a much worse if he does this. Depending on what controls and laws he affects, many in this country will feel threatened and may revolt. It will be interesting to watch.

This will simply marginalize the GOP more into the field of silly ideas. Every president has used executive orders to the praise of some and the condemnation of others.

President Obama is weighing as many as 19 different gun control measures that he could take without congressional approval, as he prepares to unveil a comprehensive plan to address gun violence amid claims from Republicans that he's overstepping his bounds.

If that doesn't concern you I don't know what would. I think there are numerous reasons to impeach Obama. If this is where some draw the line, that's fine by me.

Making a general statement ( and vague) does not speak to whether or not the President should use Executive Orders to create more gun control. Not a rational argument.

This senator was apparently homeless before getting elected, and is a far right tea partier who even voted against Boehner as Speaker of the House. Like I said...a buffoon.

Obama tossed you liberals under the bus as soon as he was re selected president. You think just because you support him you are safe from his secret surveillance, secret imprisonment, and secret kill lists?

    Talk about buffoons.

Well isn't the whole deal is their own interpretation of the constitution? Don't get me wrong...I would love to see Berry packing his bags and leaving like an illegal immigrant.

His weak point is Benghazi. If they could do a REAL fact-finding investigation to get to the bottom of it, they've got him.
As it is, he's dancing all around their sorry butts.

A buffoon presumably because he was homeless and isn't a Party convert.

    Lefty tolerance in action.

If was you conservatives who supported Bush and his Patriot Act that opened this door ... so spread the blame around to where it belongs.
