Does she really care about those who died? She did not choose to go to the one of the morning memorial service. Instead she chose to stay home and deploy troops, something any state official could have done in her place.

Does it count she was sending her son to Iraq at that troop deployment? By attending a public military function--as did Senator Biden, the other VP nominee, it showed solidarity with those who died on 09/11 and our military, besides sending her first born son off to war.

Here's a clip of her entire speech:

Well, I posted tongue-in-cheek, but I was honored to watch Governor Sarah Palin send Alaska's finest off.

So she cares more about saying good bye to her son than those who died on 9/11?

Of course this is tongue in cheek showing how far we can take criticisms if we look hard enough.

I don't question the compassion of any candidate because of where they were for a few hours Thursday morning.

I guess you are missing the point.

3 of the 4 candidates were performing memorial service or military public functions on the morning of 09/11.

If you want to make a fair comparison, and compare apples to apples instead of to oranges, you would compare the whereabouts of Palin (VP candidate) to Biden (VP candidate) and McCain (POTUS candidate) to Obama (POTUS candidate).

So you have set up a straw man argument. The noticeable absent 1 of the 4 is Obama.

I did not mention Sen Obama on this thread. Would that be off topic?

I know this is tongue-in-cheek, but I'll still respond.

Yes, I'm sure that she personally cares more about her son's imminent danger in Iraq than the victims of 9/11. That doesn't mean she doesn't care about 9/11 victims, only that it would take a twisted person not to be more concerned about their son being deployed to a war zone than the victims of a tragedy seven years ago.

I knew it... I knew it... you are so easy to figure out!!

I knew you were showing others that slammed Obama for him not putting his hand over his heart, how destructive they are....

    Good thread...

BTW... If I had a son going to Iraq, nothing else would matter, I would be there to see him off. Family first!

Yup, I agree. You have better believe that I would be there to say good bye to my son.

Yep, I agree... I would hope I would have went as the proud parent of a deploying troop and not as a politician however, the media would have crucified her for that.
