Someone said that there may be a misunderstanding of what Grace is. This is some of what Webster's 1828 says...Grace
GRACE, n. [L. gratia, which is formed on the Celtic; Eng. agree, congruous, and ready. The primary sense of gratus, is free, ready, quick, willing, prompt, from advancing.]

    1. Favor; good will; kindness; disposition to oblige another; as a grant made as an act of grace.

Or each, or all, may win a lady's grace.

    2. Appropriately, the free unmerited love and favor of God, the spring and source of all the benefits men receive from him.

And if by grace, then it is no more of works. Rom 11.

    3. Favorable influence of God; divine influence or the influence of the spirit, in renewing the heart and restraining from sin.

My grace is sufficient for thee. 2 Cor 12.

    4. The application of Christ's righteousness to the sinner.

Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. Rom 5.

    5. A state of reconciliation to God. Rom 5:2.

    6. Virtuous or religious affection or disposition, as a liberal disposition, faith, meekness, humility, patience, &c. proceeding from divine influence.

    7. Spiritual instruction, improvement and edification. Eph 4:29.

    8. Apostleship, or the qualifications of an apostle. Eph 3:8.

    9. Eternal life; final salvation. 1 Pet 1:13.

    10. Favor; mercy; pardon.

Do we show God's grace on this board to each other? After all 1 Pet 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Ga 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

    We must remember to exhibit God's grace in all of our posts (self included) and to remember charity 1 Cor 13: 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

    God help us all!

    Faith:
    Baptist
Simple acrostic to remember the root of all "grace"

    God's
Righteousness (or riches, but that's not as accurate)
    At
    Christ's
    Expense

When we learn to LIVE by the same grace (not works) by which we were SAVED, we will truly be "growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ".
