Has that person ever been convicted of even misdemeanor DV? I'm not sure of the precise Federal laws concerning that level of DV and firearm possession. However, I do know that a younger friend (I was his teacher in Sunday School years ago) was convicted of a DV misdemeanor, then unthinkingly went pheasant hunting and got caught with a firearm. Though he had no other criminal record, he got to spend a year in a Federal penitentiary.

I'm another one who bumps up the US gun count, as my dad was a collector and I inherited a number of his firearms. There's four that I consider my frequent-use guns: a .30-06 deer rifle, Ithaca pump shotgun for birds, .22 long-rifle rimfire for squirrels (also took out a rabid skunk that was threatening our dog) and a reproduction Hawken muzzleloader for black powder season. Other than perhaps the last, there's almost no overlap in the intended functions for these hunting weapons.

If guns are THE problem, is a total ban/confiscation a preferred remedy?

No, for the person who wants to commit sin will turn to using a car to run people over then!

This is the very reason that I have an immense problem accepting people's claim (?) to be a Christian, but also dedicated to liberalism; I mean, just look at the platform(s) of the liberals & their agenda! There is absolutely nothing that I have seen that IS NOT anti-Christian, immoral, virtually illegal and anti-American. Also liberals are ALWAYS offended at SOMETHING that doesn't seem to bother anyone else - an extremely unhappy chunk of humanity(?)! Considering their role model I guess it just figures!

Also "No" because such action would produce a black market for guns that would dwarf that of Prohibition.

The left wing Christianity, under the guise of "showing the love of Christ", is tolerate of others ways to salvation, gay weddings, abortions etc!

There is no "left-wing" organized combination of religion and politics. This is all the false gospel of far-right fundamentalists.

Tony Compalo disagree with you, as does Ron Snider, as both of them are "left wing" Evangelicals!

The Samaritan woman at the well was a prostitute. Jesus indeed supported her so she could give that up and follow Him. I think a better word than supported would be helped. But He certainly didn't view them as outcasts the way many legalistic Christians view homosexuals.

    Neither did she try to:
DENY the fact of her sin,
    JUSTIFY her sin,
PROTEST to get laws favoring her sin,
ATTEMPT TO RUIN those who didn't approve of her sin,
IN GENERAL DEMAND that "You WILL accept, approve and even praise me for my sin that I am proud of!
    ",
GET IN OTHERS FACES with those who refuse to condone such sin
SAYING that Jesus actually approves this sin!!!!!

Can you even imagine if she had confronted Jesus, the way the yammering queers do, what His response would have been!?!?
Methinks that your concept of Jesus/God ignores His judgment side and sees only His love/forgiveness side.
His word covers this topic very well!!

Yes. So is adultery and hypocrisy. In fact Jesus wouldn't deal with hypocrites. Many in the church today are in this category.
