    Yea, unfortunately he gets a lot of flak over this because people fail to understand what mission the banner referred to as being accomplished, which was the mission of reaching Baghdad and disposing Saddam and his regime.

    I agree that it is unfortunate.

    I struggled putting up this thread, because I didn't want it to seem disrespectful to those serving right now, I myself have been deployed to the Persian Gulf several times.

    Bush, that day, declared major combat operations over, and the real carnage had not yet begun.

    Unfortunate ? Yup. Also very hard to swallow.
