I didn't see "not yet" given as a choice ;)

This past June my bride and I celebrated 6 years.

madre and padre for 28 years this December! Folks talk about their multiple marriages like the changing weather. I introduce madre as my first wife - technically correct - but not quite how the phrase is used. madre just rolls her eyes and moves on. She's done a lot of that in 28 years which makes it a wonder she doesn't get introduced as the Widow madre.

For some bizarre IT reason I couldn't vote in the poll but could view the results. Anyway, I divorced my first wife in 1999 after 8 years of marriage when she ran off with another man (no children) and have been happily married for the second time since 2003 with now two children.

I have no official position in my current church

I know that I ain't necessarily the brightest neon on Broadway, but there seems to be a contradiction in these two emboldened statements. Could you enlighten us, just a bit here, FTR?

I wish I could take part in the now closed poll.

Oh yeah, I did not get married until 05-08-1999, when I had reached the tender age of ~ 50 yr, 9 mos., and my bride [IMG] was barely dry behind the ears at ~ 37 yr., 7 1/2 mos. This was the first marriage for both of us, as well, considering we were so young.

And now I've been very happily married for 8yr., 4 mo., 11 days. As for my bride (who was the HS valedictorian, mind you), by her math, the days of married bliss might total up to a slightly smaller numb... . [IMG]

The "other Ed's" brief Angelology lesson:

DOPPLEGANGER - the supposed ghostly double or
    wraith of a living person

Well that dictionary is not always right :(

DOPPLEGANGER - a familiar spirit* who
does evil by doubling for a living person

*FAMILIAR SPIRIT - a demon who knows someone
    enough to act like them

The "other Ed" also notes a difference between
    SaggyWoman and Saggy_Woman???

You have me beat. I got married for the first time when I was 44. I think it took the Lord that long to make me fit to be someone's husband

Now for 12 years, we have never thought of divorce.. but I am certain she thought of murder :praying:

[IMG] The "other Ed" is correct to note this. However, this Ed made a typo in the 'quoting', [IMG] as the moniker is the same heading as a BB Moderator with 11,000+ posts, with both quotes.

Being in a minority here, I will say that I have been divorced and it's not for the faint of heart.

I hold no position of service in the church I attend, other than the Office of the Judgmental Glance Receiver or the highly esteemed Unwarrented Spiritual Castgation Acceptor.

My church must be smaller than yours.
Compared to your two positions we have only one:
    Spear Catcher. :(

    Another Minority

I was married at 17, the divorce final on my 25th birthday. Married at 26 and unfortunately, working hard to save it but at this point Praying the Lord will give the the wisdom and strength to see what is best. No kids to either.

I hold no position in church other then as a caregiver during Sunday Service.

Kinda stinks the poll is closed, so I can't vote! :BangHead:

I have been divorced once. I got married at 18 to someone way older than me (call it a rebellion thing), became a Christian at 19, and was promptly divorced by my ex...final just after I turned 20.

Now, I've been married just over two years to my wonderful husband, who has also been divorced (twice) because he was cheated on multiple times. Together we have four children (think Yours, Mine, and Ours), and we are very happy. We try not to think about divorce, but I will have to admit that murder has crossed the brain on several occasions... I always tell him I'll kill him before I go through another divorce!

    I married DH right after I turned 20 and we've been married for over 22 years now. I can't EVER see us divorcing. He's a pastor and I'm a pastor's wife. ;)
