Have you ever had to use a public bathroom? And did you just cringe because you just really had to use it, but did not want to? [IMG]

Walmart and K Mart have the nastiest bathrooms. They are never clean.

But this BBQ restaurant in our town, "Dexter BBQ". has the most fanciest, and nicest bathroom I have seen. I was thinking..."boy, I really like their sinks!" [IMG]

Have to all the time. Hate them. yuck!
I was in the bathroom at the WalMart in Elizabethtown Ky once and they ahd the best bathroom I've ever seen, not plain sinks, but fancy, no faucets, it ccame out from under this ledge that ran the whole length of the sink(sinks?, it was like 4 feet long), and it was marble(!) The soap despensers nwere not your ordinary public bathroom issue, well can't explain, it's been lik 2 years since I saw it. But I've never seen a bathroom as fancy, public or in someones home.

If I MUST, and I try not to, I'll use the men's room as long as it's for one person and nobody's around. They're cleaner!

The men's restrooms are cleaner because we're not bathroom slobs. [IMG]

Men's rooms are cleaner. A few years ago, I took a job at a retail sporting goods store selling fishing tackle (so I could get the discount. My whole paycheck went back to the store) and we dreaded having to clean the ladies room.

It was filthy. The primate house at the zoo was cleaner than this bathroom. It was nasty.

I don't blame you for wanting to use th men's room.

The lines to the ladies' room at the Spectrum are notorius for being long and every now and then, one will come in to the men's room.

We won't even go into what happens in the bathroom at Vet's Stadium.

I don't mind public washrooms so much. My quads are strong enough to hover, and I have a couple other tricks up my sleeve as well. heh heh.

Most gas station/restaurant bathrooms are HORRIBLE. Here's a great travel trip-when on the road, and a bathroom is a 'must', look for the Courthouse. They have CLEAN bathrooms.

We pretty much know in our town which bathrooms are safe. The one at one of the grocery stores, we only go into if it's an absolute emergency. Others, we don't mind at all. Now, in my church, the bathrooms, (along with the entire rest of the church) sparkle. Thank you Lord for the lady who single-handedly cleans our church. I've been to some (like the one I work at) where I'll try not to use the potty there. But at ours, it's like home.

Well, Jude: It is rather hard to find a courthouse on the Interstate! [IMG]

I'm with blush, I have strong quads. [IMG]

I try to stop at rest areas. I have found in Illinois and Wisconsin, at least, they are much cleaner and well-kept than gas stations. I don't think I would stop there alone at night though.

If I am traveling alone, I usually stop at
    McDonald's.

In some states the rest stops are great, Arkansas has clean ones and are spaced just right on the interstate.

Oklahoma, my state needs to improve their rest stops.

Some of the newer service stations have beautiful restrooms. Automatic and with fresh flowers. I believe the one I am thinking about is an EXXON in Texas.

I only shop where there are clean, available restrooms.

I could probably publish a book on the best restrooms...you know a travel book, like the best
    bed and breakfast. [IMG]

I don't really think much of using public restrooms. If anything, I use them more than I use my own! I mean, I'm at work from 9 to 5 (okay, more like 10 to 6), and I go out most days after work.

On the road, I look for places in built up areas close to the highway (have to see the lights from the road), because the nicer (read: cleaner) service stations tend to be in those areas. If I can't find a nice gas station, I go to a fast food place. Those usually aren't bad.

And yes, when I have to, I'll use the men's room. I was at a Melissa Ethridge concert a few years ago, and the women ran the men out of one of their restrooms (there were far more women than men at the concert, but the men still had a few restrooms from which to choose).

In college, we had a few "unirooms," like they had on Ally McBeal (and in the single sex dorms, there was no restroom for the other sex, of course, so if you had to go, you used what you had), so the idea of using the men's room really doesn't bother me. Now, in the big bad world, I wouldn't use a public men's room alone unless it was on of those single ones, but we women always go in groups, right?

Oh Kelly, you make me laugh. I once used the ladies room at a local department store. They were cleaning the men's room and they were taking their sweet time! So I had a female friend I was with pek into the ladies room, making sure the coast was clear, and in I went. It was either that or, well, water the hallway.

Well, let me answer you this way...I have a 4 year old. I try to get her to use the bathroom before we go anywhere, but she likes using the one at Wal-Mart and the grocery store. The bathrooms here are very nice. They are regularly cleaned and cared for.

The last time I visitted a nasty bathroom was on the road going somewhere far away. But that was a long time ago. But if I have to go, I will go.

My mother used to say, "You can handle anything life throws your way...as long as you don't have to go to the bathroom" She was pretty wise. ;)

Hey, remember that worship center my church just got through building?? Well, we really "dressed up" the Ladies' Room there in the foyer!! Fancy little sink runnin' all the way across the wall--ceramic tile floor and a place to "sit" while you wait on three clean "You know what's!!"

I call it the Ladies' "Powder Room"--where they can go to "freshen up" and silly lady stuff like that!! I got a few of my church women who if I ever see them go in there--they're just lible to turn the ordinary powder room into the "Gunpowder" room--if you know what I mean!! Stand around in the women's room and talk about the preacher--knowin' he can't hear!! HHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! Gotch ya'll!!!!

Say, but if ya'll ever come for a visit--I'll get my wife to give ya'll a grand tour of the "Gunpowder" room!! Just don't "fire one up!", Gina!!

Now, we know where to stop when we are in Wesson, Mississippi. [IMG]

I saw the pictures of that foyer of yours Blackbird, and it is beautiful.

I have been telling my husband for months now that our church needs to make our foyer more
inviting. I showed him yours....Well, he said "Ole Blackbird would cause more trouble by having such a beautiful worship center with a lovely, inviting foyer." [IMG]

Wait until he hears about the ladies powder room. ;)

    GROSS! Hate them! Yuck!

One time, when my son was young, he had to use
one, and this one cost a dime. I paid the dime,
opened the door, and he suddenly decided he
would wait until he got home. There, on the floor,
    was a pil . . . .

    You don't want to know.

    Correction: I hate this keyboard!

On my husband's travels in the UK, the Super Loo's are really nice. You pay 20p, about 32cents right now, there is an attendant there constantly, and things are VERY clean.

(Pinching myself and double-checking to make sure this thread is really on the BB ... )

Must not be many campers here. A little mess doesn't compare with leaving the, er, building and discovering there had been a snake lurking under the seat ...
