I've read it through in various translations on several occasions, but not in order from Genesis to Revelation. I don't believe the order is necessarily "inspired" though I do believe the text is. I think it is particularly important for Christians to read the gospels first, and then read the rest with the understanding that the whole thing points to Jesus who fulfilled it. It helps put the rest of it in context.

No, I never have read the Bible straight through, but I am now reading the Bible everyday. I read 1 hour in the morning to start my day and 1 hour at night. I have been doing this since Feb 2005.

I am Just started trying to read it from Gen. to Rev. so that I can make sure I havn't missed anything. I have been bouncing around every since I was saved and am sure I have missed some things. I know all I really need to do is mark each chapter as I read it, but I can't seem to remember to do that. If I can get throug Lev., Num., and Deu., I think I will be OK. For me and alot of people thoes three books are the hardest to get through.

I'm certain there is value to reading through each year. The word of God never returns void.

I just read it through for the first time starting May 1st of 2004 and finishing a few days early in April of this year.

I don't think its improtant to read it straight through, but I do think its important to atleast read something daily..........even if its just one scripture.
My pastor and his wife showed me how they put a mark/dot by the chapter number for each time they read the chapter. If I had done this there is no telling how much I may have read it. Only the geneologies (the who begat who) are sooooooooo terrible to read through.
