Wife has written/published more than 120 children's stories in various books, texts, curriculum, etc.

She has an article coming out in Focus on the Family (not sure when, but soon).

I've had a lot published as school texts and college texts. Some still in use! Most are in workbook form - 36-48 pages with text and activities.

6 on Wisconsin for jr high (one semester)
6 on US geography for sr high (one semester)
6 of World geography for sr high (one semester)
30 for college on chronology of the Bible (3 2-credit sets of 10)
30 for college on geography of the Bible (same)
30 for college on theology of the Bible (same)
2 for college on expository preaching (two semesters)
1 for adult on Fundamentalism in Wisconsin
1 for adult on Validity of Childhood Religious Conversions

And a bunch more I've forgotten

I've written four chapters (one chapter in 4 different multi-author Wrox books) on C#, the .NET Framework, and Windows programming (back in 2001-2002).

No royalties, and programming books don't generally sell gazillions of copies anyway. Decent resume material, though.

I've limited myself to technical editing since then. Lots more fun to poke holes in others work and get paid by the pages edited to be constructively critical so technical errors don't get published [IMG]

I've just had a few freelance articles published in magazines. But, like others, I'm working on a book. It's fiction, and writing it is a nice change from theology debates. [IMG]

    Dr. Bob,

I've also had several children's books and stories published by JourneyForth (Bob Jones University Press), Highlights for Children, and Nature Friend magazine.

More info on your wife's publications for kids?

I've written a couple of pamphlets on the Christian martial arts, and I write a column and an occasional feature article for the Gospel Martial Arts Journal. The family that kicks together sticks together! (How come there isn't a little kung fu Graemlin??) [IMG]

I wrote for Lifeway (formerly the Baptist Sunday School Board) for various publications for 10 years. All dated material though. I've still got copies :D

I'm about to start a masters program in professional writing, so maybe one day, I can add to the book list already started here.

My step-father has written over thirty books and 150 manuscripts for Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. I watched him write parts of several books.

I have written a ton of papers for school, but that's as close as I've come.

Now that I think of it, I have written technical guidance being used by the Atlantic Submarine Force.

Moody magazine was an awesome publication. I wish they hadn't stopped production.

How does one go about submitting articles or short stories to publishers?

I have just submitted articles to the smaller fellowship type magazines and done well. For the larger mags, I would go to their website and see what their submission requirements are. Some have a set format they like.

If you don't find info on the website, just email or snail mail them and ask for their requirements.

I might add that the larger mags normally don't accept submissions, they have normal group of writers that they assign topics too.

Two books published, the first through a regular Christian publisher, the second, self-published through xulon.

I would really encourage anyone who is thinking of self-publishing to do the math, find the most economical way...some of these self-publishers sound so good, but all the extras you pay for up front do not have much punch in reality.

you can see my book at mikesnow.org

Have you written and published? Yes, long ago I wrote some poems. But after I was born again, I find so much in the Bible. I've written some blogs [with photos] which you can find at http://procyon4x.blogspot.com and http://procyon5x.blogspot.com and
    http://procyon6x.blogspot.com and
    http://procyon7x.blogspot.com and
    http://procyon8x.blogspot.com and
    http://procyon9x.blogspot.com and
I feel that I should get some of the stuff I've written with the photographs I've taken published in print form.
Someone really spiritual should take a look at the blogs - and there are two more, but those I will tell after I get some response.
Would love to make friends with those who are 'in Christ'!!!

My husband has written and copyrighted numerous screenplays and many of his treatments are registered with the screenwriters guild.

I plan to publish some of my work, once my Ph.D is finished.

click on the 'books' button at the top

The title is LOVE, PRAYER AND FORGIVENESS: When Basics Become Heresies.

Re: the original essay, R. C. Sproul wrote "an excellent piece...one that many Christians need to hear"

Vernon Grounds wrote, "...an astringent corrective of misinterpreted love."

I've written, copywritten, & recorded several rock songs that I'm now ashamed of.....
Wrote a couple songs for Jen Spingla, she performs them, may record in the future. All before I was saved.

I've written several articles for the Montana Rockies Bluegrass Association monthly....

Both. I have written (or at least tried to write) several songs, but have one published in the 1992/2000 B. F. White Sacred Harp. Last year I published a book on the history of the East Texas Muscial Convention. I also self/desktop publish a few small booklets in a kind of "on demand" fashion. IOW, I print them when someone wants one (or more). These include a metrical index of the above-mentioned B.F. White Sacred Harp.

Esther, here is a link that may provide some useful information on Publishing and getting published.

Bro. Curtis, what you mention is one of the real drawbacks of being published. Once it's in print it is hard, if not next to impossible, to take back what you've said/wrote!
