    I have repeatedly said that I appreciate the HCSB . It is a very good Bible version . I like the TNIV even better . I will just cite some comparisons where the wording seemed a bit different between the two . Every example does not "prove" that the TNIV is superior . These are two versions I really like . It is just time to look at some phrases side-by-side .

    I will cite info from the NET Bible at times : Heb._____

    The HCSB will be at the top and the TNIV will be below .

    10:16 __ will inflict an emaciating disease on the well-fed of Assyria
    will send a wasting disease upon his sturdy warriors ;
    Heb. will send leanness against his healthy ones .

    13:11 __ humiliate the insolence of tryants
    humble the pride of the ruthless

    16:4 __ marauders have vanished from the land
    the aggressor wll vanish from the land

    17:13 __ like the raging of many waters

    21:13 __ in the scrublands of the desert
    in the thickets of Arabia

    28:15 __ We have cut a deal with death
    We have entered into a covenant with death

    28:21 __ His disturbing task
