The HCSB is God's ONE BOOK
for all the ages. Look at it upside down and it
will probably look Greek to you [IMG]

Romans 10:9 (HCSB = Hanks Crusin' Side Book)
if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord,"
and believe in your heart that God raised
Him from the dead, be a 5-point Calvinist,
    be baptized properly,
sustain a 3.5 or better in Seminary,
    and have this HCSB in your lap;
    you will be saved.

Hmm, if people don't know about Cliff Notes they probably don't know about the Te Deum

The Te Deum was the hymn sung by the "faithful" while heretics (those who rejected the Latin Vulgate, etc) were burned at the stake by the Church of Rome Grand Inquisitor Torquemada and his LV Only butchers (actually bakers) doing "service to God". Similarly Kings Henry 8th and James (The first KJVO) and their "bishop" inquisitors.

The "celebration" was called an auto-da-fe (act of faith).

Gee, I wonder what song the Apostle Paul sang as he was murdering the first christians? And to think that God actually allowed Paul to be the writer of scripture. God however, did not let some unsaved pagan gnostics write scripture though. Besides, King James was the King, not the translator. Those puritans should have been more obediant to God first, and then the king. They were being disobediant to God, and also causing riot, strife and rebelliousness. Look at the entire history of this, instead of focusing on a bias. Then you might see more clearer. All baptists are not perfect, just as all Anglicans were not evil.

You all are something else. You trash the KJB translators for being Anglican (which was a protestant and God loving - fearing people back then), then in the next breath you praise their opinions of God's word and how they viewed other Bibles. You are all HYPOCRATES! To be honest with you, I would much rather trust the Anglicans from the 1600's than most Baptists today. Baptists today have lost their first love, while the Anglicans in the 1600's kept, honoured, believed and revered their firt love.

    &lt;snipped&gt;

love in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour,

    Te Deum?

    Wasn't that by the Crew-Cuts, 1954?

Nope. 15th Century German carol. But here are the words and you can SING along now. When you have mastered all 16 verses, let me know. There is more . . .

    1. Es ist ein Ros entsprungen,
    Aus einer Wurzel zart,
    Wie uns die Alten sungen,
    Von Jesse kam die Art,
    Und hat ein Blümlein bracht
    Mitten im kalten Winter
    Wohl zu der halben Nacht.

    2. Das Reislein, das ich meine,
    So uns das Blumlein bringt,
    Maria ists, die Reine,
    Von der Jesaias singt;
    Nach Gottes ewgem Rath
    Hat sie ein Kind geboren
    Und bleibt doch reine Magd.

    3. Das schreib uns ohne Mangel
    Lucas mit truer Hand,
    Wie Gabriel der Engel
    Vom Himmel ward gesandt
    Zu einer Jungfrau rein,
    Die Gott sich auserwahlte,
    Sie sollt ihm Mutter sein.

    4. Der Engel unverdrossen
    Fuhr in der Juden Land
    Gen Nazareth; verschlossen
    Marien er da fand
    In inrem Kammerlein.
Er sprach sie an so freundlich:
    'Gegrusst sei, Jungfrau rein,

    5. 'Du bist vol aller Gnaden,
der Herr will mit dir sein,
    Hoch uber aller Frauen
    Will er dich benedein.'
    Die edle Jungfrau zart,
    Von dieses Engels Grussen
    Wie sie erschrocken ward!

    6. 'Du sollst dich nicht entsetzen,'
    Sprach er, 'o Jungfrau schon!
    Mein Wort lass dich ergetzen,
    Ich komm aus Himmels Thron,
    Bring frohe Botschaft dir.
    Due hast bei Gott Genade
    Gefunden, glaube mir.'

    7. 'Ein Kindlein wirst du tragen
    In deinem keuschen Leib,
    Davon die Schriften sagen,
    Du uberselig Weib!
    Sein Nam ist Jesus Christ:
    Der Herr will ihm verleihen
    Seinnes Vaters David Sitz.'

    8. Da sprach die Jungfrau reine
    Gar zuchtig mit Verstand:
    'Wie soll mir das geschehen,
    Die keinen Mann erkannt?'
    Der Engel sprach zu ihr:
    'Diess Wunder wird verschaffen
    Der heilge Geist an dir.

    9. 'Es wird dich uberschatten
    Des Allerhochsten Kraft
    Und unverletzt bewahren
    Deine reine Jungfrauschaft,
    Denn dieses Kindlein schon,
    Das von dir wird geboren,
    Ist Gottes ewger Sohn.'

    10. Da sprach mit Freud und Wonne
    Die edle Jungfrau rein,m
    Als sie vernahm, sie solle
    Des Herren Mutter sein,
    Gar willig, unverzagt:
    'Ich bin des Herren Dienerin,
    Mir gescheh wie du gesagt.'

    11. Aus heilgen Geistes Kraften
    Maria bald empfieng
    Den ewgen Himmelsfursten:
    Schau an das Wunderding!
    Neun Mond er bei ihr war;
    Sie wurde Gottes Mutter,
    Blieb Jungfrau immerdar.

    12. Wohn zu denselben Zeiten
    Der starke Furst und Held
    Augustus, Romscher Kaiser,
    Beschrieb die ganze Welt,
    Den Zins von Allem nahm,
    Da Joseph mit Maria
    Auch hin gen Bethlem kam.

    13. Herbergen waren theuer,
    Sich fand kein Aufenhalt
    Als eine alte Scheuer;
Da war die Luft gar Kalt.
    Wohl in derselben Nacht
    Marie gebar den Fursten,
    Der Frieden hat gebracht.

    14. Lob, Ehr sei Gott dem Vater,
    Dem Sohn und heilgen Geist;
    Maria, Gottes Mutter,
    Auch deine Hulfe leist
    Under bitt dein Kindelein,
    Das Gott durch seine Gute
    Und gnadig will verzeihn.

    15. Wir bitten dich von Herzen,
    Du edle Konigin,
    Bei deines Sohnes Schmerzen,
    Wenn wir einst fahren hin
    Aus diesem Jammerthal;
    Du wollest uns geleiten
    bis in der Engel Saal.

    16. So singen wir all' 'Amen!'
Das heisst: 'Nun werd' es wahr,
    Dass wir begehrn allsammen:'
    O Jesu, hilf uns dar
    In deines Vaters Reich!
    Darin wolln wir dich loben:
    O Gott, uns das vewrleih!

Yes, Torquemada, King Henry, King James said all these things as well. BTW the King James Bible is still the private property under perpetual copyright of the Crown. Seeing that you are so fond of them by defending them down to their sin of shedding the blood of believers, why aren’t you a member of their Church?

Like all men they were duplicitous just like you and I.
I show both sides of them.

So now when we tell the historic facts of the atrocities of the KJV men you use that to imply that we have lost our first love.

I believe Dr. Bob also includes this verse in his version, the GET real Bible, (Griffin Expanded Translation) but he does include the footnote that indicates that the reading in this form is only found in a few of the more recent suthren Babtist manuscripts, and it includes a clause about wearing something called "gauchos" and an obscure reference to pot luck (aka providence) dinners. I am not sure what thats all about ;)

I dont no how to spel graduat, but I ar one

Oh, and he also amends the seminary requirement to allow for a 3.15, after all, MV's always dumb down the Word right? Why break with tradition.

</font>[/QUOTE]Hey, Look... I'm 32! I went to them there terribly underfunded Christian Schools. we didn't have fancy books like that. and suprisingly, I never heard of Clif notes either

The Only "Moby Dick" I know anything remotely about, is a song, by a 70's classic rock group.

anyone who's a drummer knows the song... (maybe...)

Now, now, now, all of you have it wrong.

Don't you know that God only wrote one Bible? And, FYI, it's the 1995 NASB Update. And not just any update, mind you, but the ultrathin large print calfskin published by Foundation. It is advanced revelation.

I fear that all of you are on the slippery slope until you realize this.

    Guess that makes me ULPC95NASBO.

False witness. I do not trash them for being Anglican, nor have I seen anyone trash them for being Anglican. I have seen people in opposition to some particular actions of particular KJV translators, actions that had nothing to do with being Anglican.
