    Cessantionalism is about the SIGN gifts.

    Good point. Only a few of the 19 gifts of the Spirit for the Bride today are about special signs (prior to completion of the Bible).

    Must keep our understanding of ALL the work God the Spirit does in perspective!

    I tend to agree with most of the cessantionalist views. However, I am somewhat confused by this statement:

    Believing that the purposes of the sign gifts have passed is different from implying that God can ONLY speak to a person today through The Holy Scriptures as Chet's statement seems to imply. Or am I missunderstanding your statement, Chet. If I am please forgive me. I really find this thread fascinating. [​IMG]
