    FAL has this issue nailed down. He understands what he is talking about. "Your take" is meaningless since you have no data to back up your assertion that more people are receiving benefits than not. Social Security recepients are entitled to receive their benefits, as are members of the armed forces and others who work for the government.

    How can one raid the national treasury when the money belongs to the people? I am must less worried about those who are collecting earned benefits than I am about the politicans in charge not knowing how to govern or manage.

    There are some occupations people have that should be the last to speak up about people collecting benefits from the government. There are all sorts of ways of shorting the treasury.

    You can raid the national treasury by handing out benefits to those who did not earn them. Many people receive ss who did not pay one dime tot he system.

    The public sector unions are a perfect example.

    Actually, no, I do not start anything, but respond to posts. What I certainly do not do is insult people's spouses and parents as a way of getting back. Your actions reflect your character, which hovers around zero.

    Knowingly voting on bills at tax payer expense when there is no possibility of it passing is a waste of time and money.

    The good news is the names that are attatched to it. It's good to get the democrat lawmakers who support this on record, and vice-versa, the republicans get a chance to do what they actually said they would. The republicans, simply put, have the will of the people behind them.

    Crabby, Excellent question! That would mean that conservatives are not serious about their convictions.

    I agree that normally the majority rules, but what I don't like is when the minority takes money from the majority to waste.

    It does it appear that the law would be DOA (with the current congress). But as Winston Churchill said - Never give in, Never give in, Never, never, never.

    If Ron Paul is not a conservative then the rest are traitors. The republicans know how many will vote and what they will vote before the vote is taken. What they are doing is nothing but politics as the tax payer expense. Mark my word these same republicans who are making all this noise will find a way not to repeal the law even if Romney is elected. It will be one excuse after another.

    Winston, WHO? When there is no possible hope of winning fools press on.
