So you think that the historical record on Prescott Bush is just a bunch of bunk, including the invoking of the Trading with the Enemy Act?

Terry, When you go buy a car, do you negotiate for a lower price, or do you pay the highest price possible?

How so, Terry? That sounds a like dodge to me.

In both cases, people are buying goods and services. When you negotiate for a lower price, you are taking money out of some wage earner's pocket. Why is it okay for you as a buyer to pay the lowest possible price, but it's not okay for someone else?

Consider the additional issue that you as an individual answer to no one for the price you pay. An employer answers to shareholders and co owners, as well as additional employees for the price he pays. He has actually has a greater reasono than you to negotiate for lower prices.

When you negotiate for a car, you are trying to come to a mutually beneficial deal. Why should not employers do the same?

It seems like you are inconsistent. Why?

You have the additional problem of defining a "living wage." What exactly is that? Whatever it is, it is different in different places. A living wage in NYC is far different than a living wage in rural Alabama. Secondly, you have yet to make the case that everyone deserves a living wage. Should a teenager working a summer job demand to get paid a wage sufficient to live on? Should he be paid the same as a 40 year old man with a wife and three kids? Of course not. So the quest for a "living wage" is both undefinable and unnecessary.

Employers have the obligation to be just and fair to their employees. They have a responsible to be prudent in their business decisions. These things must go hand in hand.

Terry has PMed me to tell me my brother is an idiot, and he'll come home in a body bag. That's his/her/whatever's way of debate.

I've read some foul things here, Terry, but that takes the cake.

You are on my daily prayer list, as well as my ignore list.

Finally, something I can agree with! Also, employees have a responsibility to do as good of a job as they can.

One problem we have here in Houston, it that too many employers hire illegal workers and exploit them by paying them very low wages, or demanding unrealistic things from them. I once worked in a machine shop that was owned by a State Representative who demanded that the illegal workers punch out at quiting time and then work on their own time to finish their production if they had not done so during the work day.

I took the liberty of forwarding your kind, Christian words to my brother. To let him know the level of Christian love going out from the Christians at home. Surely he will see the love of Christ in your Christian message, and know the Christian attitude of the Christians at home.

I'm still reeling from the PM, I can't believe you would send it. What a coward you are, Terry.

I just now forwarded your PM to Mrs. Curtis. Just to show the level of Christian love typical from the likes of you, Terry. Tell me, would Jesus call my brother an idiot ? Is the attitude of all liberals reflect your's ?

Terry seems to want to dodge these issues now. What's up Terry? No real response?

You haven't answered me. You haven't answered Pastor Larry... and I am fairly certain that you can't answer Bro Curtis.

I seem to remember not long ago that you were accusing me of being uncompassionate or mean or something. That seems pretty hypocritical considering what you've done... since I really wasn't responding with any kind of hatred or guile... maybe your words to Curtis show that you were judging me by the darkness in your own heart.

I get it !!!! Funny stuff.

I know some probably wish I wouldn't pick on Terry so much, but I should probably warn him/her.

I took the liberty of forwarding to my many brothers & sisters, your kind words. Also, I used the internet information super highway to find a few Terry Herringtons in the Houston Texas area. You know, addresses & phone #s. Perhaps you're not stupid enough to let people trace you so easily, but perhaps you are. Anyways, have a nice day.

    You are a liar!

You are a liar. I explained my PM. You conveniently did not mention that, did you? I repeat you are a good for nothing liar!

    PM1 recieved at 10:19 pm, 6/1/06

    You said:
"My brother, CWO3 Timothy Rathburn's been there three times, and just re-upped, so he'll most likely go back."

So, your brother is an idiot. Maybe he will come back to you in a body bag.

    PM2 recieved at 8:24 am, 6/2/06

I was thinking last night and decided to explain my earlier post. I certainly do not want your brother or anyone else to be killed in Iraq. I was pointing out the possibility, which I'm sure you already know. I admire his determination even though I think it is misplaced.

I wonder if you would be so pro-war with Iraq if it cost you someone dear? Would it be worth it for him to lay down his life for Bush's mistake?

I am convinced that this war is both unnecessary and wrong. We should bring our troops home now!

You cannot explain away the hatred in your first post, even if you did apologize, which you didn't.

And we, in my family, are fully aware of the possibility he may not come home. Why do you think we're so proud of him ?

Care to retract anything you may have said, here ?

I don't owe you or your family an apology. I admit the first PM was ambiguous. I should have said, "His enlisting could end up costing him his life. That is why I sent the second PM.

Of course you don't Terry. Just like you don't owe any of the rest of us answers for questions that completely destroy your premise in the OP.

You don't think you owe him an apology because that would be admitting you are wrong. You won't answer us because that will prove you are wrong. You won't answer Pastor Larry's question in particular because that will prove your hypocrisy.

    Then don't apologize.

Also, those of us who actually served all know it might cost us our lives. It's drilled into our heads from the first day at boot-camp. We don't need cowardly libbys to remind us. Another difference is, we are willing to fight. Something else you apparently won't do.

I'll tell you this, it's a good thing you weren't standing next to me when you called him an idiot.

Curtis, you said you looked for my phone number on the Internet. All you have to do is take me off your ignore list and I will gladly give it to you. So, put up or shut up. Oh, and that comment about being glad I was not standing next to you, it's just bravado, that's all.
