The following is an excerpt I received from Crosswalk.com 'Religion News' newsletter this morning. (I think it's a few days old). The thrust of the article is of a "hit-list" that some hindu organization had posted on a web site. Their posting has subsequently been pulled.

Anyway, here's what I found to be quite interesting; It {the hit list} lists well-known evangelists like Benny Hinn, who is described as "a Baptist evangelist who goes to countries around the world, especially
those with large Hindu populations and preaches about 'the evil of
    Hindus and Hinduism.'"

So, when did dear ol Benny join our ranks? Must have slept in the morning that little tidbit made the news :D

    God Bless!!!

    Adam

p.s. if anyone would like to see the article in its entirety, let me know and I'll post it. AJC

It seems that I am posting a lot to you today. I have just been reading through here having a little more than I have recently. I will stop, I promise. [IMG]

Having watched Benny Hinn on many occasions, I can assure you that the god he preaches is not the God of Scripture. He is not one of the "us" that I am apart of. Again, studying his theology and seeing what he preaches as measured against the Word of God will demonstrate that Hinn is a false teacher.

Larry, You can post to me anytime :D

I have to disagree though about Benny. I know he believes in salvation, I saw him recently on tv leading literally thousands of people thru the salvation prayer and leading them to accept Jesus Christ into thier lives and verbally repent of their sin and believe in and confess Jesus Christ is Lord. This my friend, tells me Benny Hinn is very much a part of us in the family of God.

Pastor Larry is right. Benny Hinn is not one of "us". Benny Hinn serves mammon, not the Lord. He often mocks the Lord with his New Age hocus pocus performances. I am sorry to say that it is all for money. I wish it wasn't, but it is.

    MagicDar,

[15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
[16] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
[17] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
[18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
[19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
[20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
[21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
[22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

    Matthew 7: 15-23

Pay special attention to verse 22. I believe this will be Benny Hinn some day. As well as many other so called "children of God".

Concerning Benny Hinn, Here is an article with a short blurb about him that I found ... interesting to say the least. It puts in his own words what we should have already recognized long ago.

I am posting the link to the site with some hesitance because I do not necessarily recommend the source. The conclusions that the author draws must be used with great discernment. Cloud has some good stuff and some bad stuff in his conclusions, i.e., he has missed the boat on some things. However, his factual information seems to be accurate.

    Short paragraph on Benny Hinn

Bob...AMEN? Meaning let it be true,

Since I will no longer be participating in the bb anymore from my own choice. I will speak from the heart.

::shaking head:: it really makes me sad to think that any christian would actually enjoy the idea of another christian(benny) to be not in the will of God (as you think)
which leads me to believe there are issues in your lives that need checked out.

Benny Hinn does and believes things you don't agree with so automatically that places him in the category of non-christian?

I don't think so my friends...the bible is clear, no matter on doctrine if you are a repented soul who has confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of your life and you believe with faith in Jesus for your salvation...you are saved. Serving money has nothing to do with salvation, many christians "serve money" btw...your making a seriously bad judgement call about benny and money, you don't know his heart yet you attempt to step out and claim a holier life than he.....Frankly, I'm glad I will no longer be participating in this board, for the exception of a few decsent christians this board will do nothing but bring a christian down as it has me. :( -dar

    Dear Magic,

Why leave? If what you say is true then we need you here. If not, then you need to be here.

Who is enjoying the fact that he is not in the will of God? As a pastor it breaks my heart to see someone like Hinn so tragically deceiving and misleading people. He makes all of jobs harder because he presents a false Christianity. People see the foolishness and showmanship of Hinn and then realize that his prophecies do not come true and then they say if he is a Christian, I don't want a part of that. No one here is glad about that.

quote:
Benny Hinn does and believes things you don't agree with so automatically that places him in the category of non-christian?

Wrong ... absolutely wrong. Benny Hinn does and believes thing that are not in accord with Scripture. That is what makes him wrong. It doesn't matter what I or anyone else believes ... it is what Scripture says. Yet you do not seem to want to deal with that.

quote:
the bible is clear, no matter on doctrine if you are a repented soul who has confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of your life and you believe with faith in Jesus for your salvation...you are saved.

The Bible is clear that if you do not continue in the faith you weren't reconciled (Col 1:20-22). Doctrine does matter (Rom 16:17-18; Jude 3)

quote:
you don't know his heart yet you attempt to step out and claim a holier life than he

By their fruit you will know them. Look at his fruit.

Did you read the link I posted above where Hinn claimed there were going to be people raised from teh dead? Did you read where he said God was speaking to him yet he didn't know if it was true?

It is sad to see you go. It seems that whenever people try to focus the discussion on Scripture and then compare what people teach by Scripture, there are always some who just walk out rather than deal with Scripture. I had a lady walk out of my Sunday night service 2 weeks ago because she didn't like what I was saying. I called her later and after an hour and a half on the phone she said, "I never thought of it that way." The problem was she was not previously willing to judge her own thoughts by Scripture.

I think that when Bob Landis said AMEN he was saying that he agrees with the Word of God in that God will deal JUSTLY with false teachers who KNOW THE BIBLE and make a concious choice to MISLEAD thousands (maybe millions) of people from the TRUE HOLY LOVING FATHER. So I say AMEN that God will deal justly with these people because they are working for Satan. When a crime is committed, we the people cry out for justice. God has PROMISED justice. I say AMEN!

All to often, Christians use their heart to run their lives. I believe this is the crux of the matter. We are not to believe in our heart, rather believe in God with all our heart. When we focus on our feelings, rather than the Lord, are view becomes skewed toward the flesh rather than the Father. I pray those who’ve fallen into this false sense will lift their eyes to the Lord instead of toward men like Benny Hinn.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
    Jeremiah 17:9
    (KJV)

Engañoso es el corazón más que todas las cosas, y perverso; ¨quién lo conocerá?
    Jeremías 17:9
    (RV) (For Chet :D )

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
    Proverbs 3:5
    (KJV)

Fíate de Jehová de todo tu corazón, Y no estribes en tu prudencia.
    Proverbios 3:5

I would never, ever judge someone's salvation.

In the case of Benny Hinn, however, there are some very bad things going on.

Think about it. This is a guy who:

    a) supports the idea that there are nine persons in the Godhead

    b) who denies the suffiency of Christ's death and subsequent resurection

    c) teaches that he is "a little messiah"

    d) teaches that he is "Benny Jehovah"

How in the world does he reconcile these things with being a follower of Christ?

I watched Benny Hinn's show yesterday and I was disgusted! I have never seen it before, but I've seen little clips here and there and when I was flipping thru the channels, I saw that it was on, so I tuned in to see for myself. MY GOODNESS!!! When that man prayed at the end, he was saying "Yes Father, I know that man that his back is hurting...blah blah blah" He was attempting to be specific (what guy or girls back has never hurt? COME ON) and was acting as tho GOD ALMIGHTY was pointing out what ails His people...I just don't have the words to describe how sickening it was! Then there was this couple who the wife had MS or something of that nature and she came to the "crusade" to be healed and be able to walk again and miraculously she could, but the husband made reference to a FAITH DONATION of over $100!! YUCK!

Not that I don't believe that God miraculously heals people, I believe He does it all the time, but I believe He does it for HIS glory, not to glorify a man named Benny Hinn (not a man, a common criminal). I think what he does to people is extortion!
