Hi, Yall...I'm new here but not new to this debate

    Hello everyone. I'm new to this post.

    I have enjoyed reading through many of your posts for the last several days and finally decided to register and join in.

    I debated this issue several years back and I was some where in the middle of the two extremes. I don't like the Calvinistic or Arminian labels but I have read both viewpoints quite extensively throughout my studies.

    I have jumped back and forth on this issue throughout my life and I'm still not sure I have come to any hard and fast conclusions. Just when I think I'm convinced by one argument I read another equally convincing counter argument, so to be honest I'm still working through this issue.

    So, I look forward to throwing in a few of my thoughts and questions.

    Be careful around these here parts. Most here strive to handle themselves in a civilized Christian manner, but every once in a while things get dragged into the mud.

    I'd be glad to answer any questions you may have from the Arminian viewpoint or I'm sure any of the other Arminians on the board would be glad to give you their opinions and I'd recommend you look to Russell55, Dallas, or Archangel for an objective Calvinistic viewpoint, but I'm sure others will be glad to fill you in as well.

    Welcome, JR. I am always glad to see an honest inquirer engage himself in this forum. [​IMG]

    As you will learn, if you haven't already, there are those who will throw around perjorative language in this debate. But most of us try to stick to the issues.

    Again, welcome, and I look forward to assisting in answering any questions you may have if I am capable of doing so.

    There has been talk about a formal debate over these issues but as yet this has not been started. I am sure that you and others would benefit from reading a reasoned debate in this forum.
