I can't wait until we can get some socialized medicine also.

I disagree:

1. A vast amount of healthcare is socialized medicine. Medicare, medicaid, the huge drug benefit for seniors thing, etc.
2. California is quickly moving toward government-provided healthcare ...even for illegals. LINK The rest follows soon after.
3. Most Americans believe that government healthcare would be better...we're not a very smart population anymore.
4. Most Americans see healthcare as "an inalienable right."
5. Fewer employers are providing free insurance...many can't, some won't, and as #4 stated, most Americans think the employers should provide it; thus, they'll either turn to government to force the employers, or they'll turn to government for the healthcare.
6. The Democrats are in control of Congress...they'll push the issue. Make no mistake--the Republicans are not above buying votes...but government healthcare is a couple of notches higher on the Democrat's priority list. (Sleeping with interns and covering it up was higher up on Republicans' priorities) [/sarcasm, but not THAT much]

Your confused.

Sleeping with interns and covering it up. That was the Democrats as in Monicagate.

Now, sending dirty e-mails to pages. That was the Republicans.

California does not set the standard for the rest of the country. In fact it is looked at as what not to do in most cases. As far as what most Americans want, well that phrase gets thrown around alot with nothing to back it up. I do not believe the sleeping with interns was near the priority for repubs as it was for Clinton.

Tennessee gave hillarycare a try.

It was a miserable failure, nearly bankrupting the state, if I remember correctly.

Yep. It was called TennCare. And the abuses did not go unnoticed in the media.

Socialized healthcare will be high on the priority of the new congress. I think there will be at least some small movement toward a complete socialized healthcare that the Dems want.

The Dems may want it, but I don't think anything will come of it - reason being that the insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies have deep pockets with which to influence our policy makers.

You're confused - Monica was no longer an intern at the time of their affair.

My bad. Does it make a difference. Looks to me like that is how she got her paid job since 2 days after she was hired..........

Early July: Monica S. Lewinsky begins work as an intern in the White House chief of staff's office.

Nov. 13: Lewinsky accepts a paying job dealing with correspondence at the White House office of legislative affairs.
Nov. 15: During the government shutdown, Clinton visits the chief of staff's office for a birthday party. Lewinsky lifts her jacket and shows him the straps of her thong underwear. Then he invites Lewinsky to his private study, where they kiss. Later that evening, they have a more intimate sexual encounter during which he takes a call from a member of Congress.

Technicaly you are right there was no sleeping done, that we know about. Maybe you have heard of a thing called figure of speech.

Sometimes we call what they did, Sleeping with each other, to avoid calling it by more graphic terms in public.

<edited graphic language - LE>

Can we get back to the Original Topic of this thread.
