Hillary is not a shoo-in for the nomination if she runs. She knows this. I was surprised to read that she has not been going to NH and is not cultivating support there. I'd put the odds that she will run at 50-50, but no more.

Good. I think she's a fine senator but sentiment is too strong against her to succeed as the president - she'd be stymied out of spite if for no other reason.

    IMHO

    Not a chance.

She may drop out at some point, but Obama won't be the reason.

I believe she's in to the end. Her ego and unrelenting ambition will not allow her to quit.

It's hard to believe Hilary Clinton would be this intimidated by a lightweight like Barack Obama.

I do think she realizes her negatives are far too high to ever win a general election, and she can't get those numbers to budge.

As for Barack, there's HUGE problems with his past, he's a flash in the pan.

And that would be a shame. I cannot support a couple of DNC planks, but I do believe Hillary deserves an open-minded assessment of her ability to govern. The primaries would offer the platforms for her to sell her goals both to the DNC and to America.

Internal and external opponents would make it extremely painful for her, though.

She might just like being a Senator from New York and feel like she can continue for many years. Then again, she may have her eyes on running sometime other than in 2008. We'll see.

Barack a light weight??? What is the problem in his past?

Besides being Black he seems like the perfect Dem candidate. Is America ready for a Black Prosident?

He and Hillary would be the first minority/women in the top spots. I wish they would share a ticket.

This is all I can dig up.

On November 1, 2006 the Chicago Tribune reported that Obama's home in the South Side neighborhood of Chicago was purchased the same day as an adjoining vacant lot owned by the wife of Antoin Rezko, an Illinois businessman charged with political influence peddling, and a past contributor to Obama's election campaigns.[88] Two days after the report, the same newspaper ran an editorial calling on Obama to explain why he would "allow himself any connection" to a developer who "notoriously attaches himself to political figures, often parlaying friendships into business dealings that have attracted official suspicions for several years."[89] The following day the Chicago Tribune reported Obama's statement that it was a mistake to have engaged "in this or any other personal business dealing that would allow [Rezko], or anyone else, to believe that he had done me a favor. For that reason, I consider this a mistake on my part and I regret it."[90]

Besides, I think Osama Obama is WAY overrated. Like Harold Ford.

Before some of you Rick Warren type gullible evangelicals get sucked in by his pro-Christian rhetoric, consider these facts:

    1. As a state legislator he actively worked to preserve availability of abortion in all nine months of pregnancy.
    2. He opposed parental notification for abortion.
    3. He opposed any and all bans on partial birth abortion (an act that includes delivery of the baby up to the head, the crushing of the baby's brain, the suctioning of the brain matter and then completed delivery of the child's deflated cranium).
    4. In his run for the U.S. Senate, Obama asked his wife to pen a letter to Illinois voters that reassured them of his commitment to fighting for the right to butcher children in the womb.
    5. His long support of the advance of the radical homosexual activist lobby in their pursuit to destroy traditional marriage.
    6. His support of the creation of "special rights" for people who engage in homosexuality for the sole purpose of putting them at the front of the line on issues of employment, housing and litigation.
    7. His solid backing of the advancement of all "hate crimes" legislation, which ultimately may be used to silence clergy who believe, according to their own convictions, that homosexual behavior is wrong and preach the same from biblical texts.
    8. His perfect voting record against the defense of marriage.
    9. He advocates continued funding for Planned Parenthood clinics in our nation's inner cities, which are performing genocide against the populations of African Americans living there.
    10. And most damnable of all, when a brave nurse named Jill Stanek brought about national awareness to a practice at a local hospital in suburban Chicago that allowed the starvation and neglect of newly born children who had survived abortion procedures, Obama—“the Christian”—opposed her. He opposed the rights of those children to be given the chance to live, and he advocated against a ban on such procedures—then known as "born alive abortions."

It's the opening shot from the Swift Boat guys. Rove's motto is "If Jesus Christ was running for president, I could smear him."

I think we all understand where you're coming from.

BTW, did you vote for Bush? He appointed an attorney general, who ruled in Texas that parents have no right to know when their minor child gets an aborton. He says that abortion is fine if the child was conceived in incest or rape. As if that made it less than murder.

Of course, there are some differences between Bush and Obama. And it's not hard to miss them, is it? Attitudes like yours might indeed make it harder for Obama, but such attitudes are dying out. This could be the election that does it.
