Would you care to validate your claims.
More people are being Born Again outside of the United States than ever in History. This is taking place through the minsitry of Pentedcostals. Study and find out about revivals going on in India, Columbia South America, Uganda, Korea, and Nigeria just to name a few. The USA is seeing evangelism in Pentecostal Ranks.
You are right in that Holy spirit Baptism is for evangelism but it is false to say thqat Pentecostals do not evangelize. If you think this then you just don't know Pentecostals very well.

**I was reading posts on another board, several of them, in fact, about their "incredible experience with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit". It kind of made me feel like I wasn't a true Christian in Christ...even though I know I am.**

It's funny that you should metion that. I've noticed that when many charismatics/penecostals testify of their experiences with the Holy Spirit it causes others to feel less than spiritual. Their doctrines actually cause divisions and place an elite group of Christians above the rest. It also forces members to follow suit, such as in Speaking in Tongues, Falling Out, etc. In a lot of cases if you don't do it then you're not with it!!! Didn't mean to change the subject.

Here's a point to ponder and this applies to all Christians: If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

I think that people who fight pentecostals are divisive!
Especially those that say that speaking in tongues is of the devil.

Me too, I don't believe in fighting. It's rude for someone to suggest that speaking in tongues is of the devil, but I do believe that it is sometimes of the flesh.

I was just trying to make this point to encourage, not to tear down. I've seen this happen many times in Penecostal circles. Some clearly imply that if you do not have similar experiences with the Holy Ghost then you don't have Him and you might not be saved. I don't know if that is what happened to the poster, but I thought I would throw it in, just in case.

There are even Baptists who sometimes make others feel like low-class Christians, because they don't adhere to their personal (unscriptural) rules.

    Not meant to offend.

I used to wonder if I had received only 1/2 of the Gospel. Then the Holy Spirit showed me some scripture in I Corinthians. It is quite plain: there are three gifts which remain--faith, hope and love. The greatest or these is love.

Apparently, carnal Christians need something for their flesh, yet they choke on the "meat" of the Word.

I agree with you about the need to re-evaluate an early conversion because that was my own experience. (I was 7 YO initially.) But why would you consider that a person is a Christian if they are in need of "actually becoming a Christian as an adult?"

    Jesus said:

Luk 18:16 But Jesus called them [unto him], and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Luk 18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

    in my personal experience
i have been in church services where people have fallen out and this has never happened to me.
I have never been made to feel that i was inferior because of this.
i have never heard anything said that would make me feel this way.
your experience may be different but that is mine.
I have talkedto people about this and have found that preachers tried to make them think that [entecostals made them feel inferior to keep them from going to a Pentecostal service.
I will also say this :
Even though I have never fallen out (rested in the Spirit) i have talked to people that have. They don't seem to be bothered by it. The only ones that have been bothered by this have never experienced t. I used to be bothered by it but as i realized that those that have had the experience don't seem to be bothered by this i should not be bothered.

A-test-ring, to see if there are any flaws. An unflawed piece will have a charisteristic ring--a flawed piece will have a "bonk".

That is the first thing that came from my convoluted gray matter--trained as an inspector.

I have no idea either--probably a cyberspace typo.

    Dear Seth&Matt'sMom,

Your opening post is the most Spiritual testimony of Holy Spirit Baptism I have ever read or heard.

    Consider Ps. 23:4

The very fact that you renounced the Christian lifestyle, yet continued daily believing and praying, regardless of avoiding assembling yourself is evidence of His Baptism upon you.

Your experience is that of a difficult road because of your disobedience, however it is the experiences we undergo in the wilderness and the dry places that prove to ourselves what is truly in our hearts...consider the experience of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses,...practically all the OT Saints of God.

Consider Deut. 8 for the lessons taught to Israel.

Dear Sister, praise God for your strengthening and assurrance of HIS Rod and HIS Staff, for they both have comforted you. Now you know the truth of the Psalmist's words, he maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth me beside the still waters, he leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake...

You also know the truthfulness of the blessedness upon the meek, the humble in spirit...dear sister, I know these times of disobedience are times you wish to forget; but let them by God's Grace encourage you because of the witness of the Spirit of Adoption you have now bearing witness with your spirit that you are a child of God and if a child an heir and joint heir with Christ, and what is that but that you have received all spiritual blessings in Him.

May God Richly Bless you in your walk and service with Him,
    Bro. Dallas [IMG]

Or would you ultimately be charged with concealing the evidence?

In america if I plead guilty there is no trial.
So to have a trial means that I have plead not guilty.
If I plead not guilty to being a Christian I would be denying Christ and he would deny me.
