    Clint, let me help you.

"I never knew that the Catholic Church officially accepted practicing homosexual as priests. According to a news story I heard tonight there is a big hub-bub about the vatacan coming out with a new rule stating that practicing homosexual priests will be kicked out of the priest-hood."

The topic was "the Catholic Church officially accepting practicing homosexual as priests".

Please, address this topic. As you do, bear in mind that individual Catholics, even priests, do not "officially" speak for the Church.

Also bear in mind that there is a distinction between having a homosexual "orientation" and being a "practicing" homosexual.

I know that there is not much that you can say while remaining on topic. That's why the topic was changed by the author.

It's quite simply a false charge.

BTW, what's the matter can't take a joke?

    Clint,

Following the continuity of the thread does not mean you are staying on topic. It means that you've gone with the flow. So you're admiting that you've gone off topic.

The Church as a unit does NOT accept practicing homosexuals in the priesthood. The current scandal has thankfully exposed this problem, and as you yourself have stated, the Vatican is attempting to put a stop to it.

I'm going to be a priest. I'm not homosexual. I will fight this cause for the Church in any way I can, because I would LOVE to see this issue resolved before I go to seminary in the coming years.

Please, let's stop picking fights about this. This is a serious issue, and one that happens to affect me personally.

    God bless,

    Grant

    Let's pick a number together.

How many examples of beliefs contrary to Baptist beliefs, presented on this very board by self described Baptists, would it take for you to admit that those beliefs are taught by the Baptist church?

    Hi Grant -

Hope your health is better than last time we spoke.
To the contrary, we are still discussing homosexuality in the priesthood. I have presented articles that show that it exists and that leadership, as opposed to laity, within the church has endorsed the practicing homosexual to continue in their "ministry."

Acknowledged and in fact one of the links I provided says that the issue was addressed in 1961, but a rule is only as effective as its enforcement, thus the issue has emerged once again 40 years later.

Well it should. Evidently the Vatican is recognizing that the problem with the homosexual subculture within the RCC seminaries is partly to blame for the near crisis status of the shortage of clergy. Best of luck to you in your efforts to disauade this in the ever increasing "politically correct" atmosphere of the modern church.

Now THIS, on the other hand, is an example of someone pulling a thread off topic. ;)

What do you mean by "The Baptist Church" ? As you know, most of us are independant.

But that's hypothetical, 'cuz it would change the subject of the thread, wouldn't it ?

This is where you took it from the original topic.
A response to your prior off topic comment, Clint.
