Hot-off-the-press: Health-care Bill to Go Nuclear

If this bill passes you can play the death knell for the United States. It will be interesting to see how the country is devided up. How much will be independent? What parts of this will sell their citizenship to be part of another country. How much of our advanced military will be sold off for nothing to other nations and which nations? I wonder If I will have to fill a wheel barrel filled with dollars to buy bread?

One problem is the high cost of some services. A few weeks ago my doctor sent me to get an MRI on one of my knees. The total cost for this twenty minute procedure was $3500.

Did you ask your doctor what the cost would be if paid for it out of pocket? My guess is that it would probably be cheaper.

I'm sorry for your pain and surgery. Been there, done that, and it was not a bit enjoyable. Glad you're doing better... in my case, the injury was worse that they thought, and it's never really gotten better!

But you could have bought insurance...

This is true... but, at the time I was a healthy young man. I felt invincible, and saw no need to have a costly expense hanging over my head.

This is probably going to be the exact same mindset of millions of Americans. They'll buy it only when it becomes a necessity, and that means the government will trillions of dollars of lost insurance fees.

I know what mine costs, and if I lose my job, I still have it.

However, the government plan may convert your plan over to theirs, and it could be a plan that you may not like, or afford. The only good thing about that plan [the government plan] is that no one can take it from you. No one but the government, who could change it at any time to make sure they aren't losing money.

I am not begrudging you that in the least. I think it is great. And it's nothing you couldn't have through another means. That's my point.
