Your characterizations of another by attempting to put words into his or her mouth are probably less than stellar. Where did I do this and if I did I appologize.

Ive checked out your site its seems pretty good but its going to take more time than I have right now to go through it so Thanks and Its nice to see a Christian who can have a different point of view and or oppinion and not try and insult or belittle someone else like I see on here and through out churches. Thank you for maintaining a Godly attitude GOD BLESS Thank you too Ed for the same thing.

//When I was first saved I read the NIV I then found
some serious mistakes in it. When it said in Isiah
Oh how you have fallen from heaven o morningstar
and I knew it should read Lucifer ... //

-----------------------------------------------------------------
rewritten 14 Oct 2007

Isa 14:12 (KJV1611 Edition):

How art thou fallen from heauen, ||O Lucifer, sonne of the morning?
how art thou cut downe to the ground, which didst weaken the nations?

Error Doctrine:

The name is 'Lucifer', his role is Lead Devil, his title is
'Satan' (the accuser).

Margin note: ||OR, O day-
starre.

This shows that what is being compared here is the King of Bayblon
and the planet Venus, AKA /also known as/: Day Star,
Morning Star, Evening Star (according to when seen in the sky).

Blows that doctrine right down the tubes.
We don't know the name of Satan What'shisname, the Lead Devil.

---------------------------------------
Quote from another venue where the parents
of a 5-year-old girl have a problem with her
because she was told about [job title] [name]:
Satan Lucifer being a beautiful angel (cherub that
covers)

Lucifer is in the Word of God.

Isa 14:12 (Latin Vulgate, 0484 Version )
quomodo cecidisti de caelo lucifer qui mane
oriebaris corruisti in terram qui vulnerabas gentes

'Lucifer' is NOT the Holy Written Word of God;
'Lucifer' is the word of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC).
The Latin Vulgate has been the most used Bible
in the World since before 0500AD - for 1,500 years
It has been the word of the Pope.
(Recall that many Protestants have consider that
the Antichrist is the RCC Pope and the RCC Pope
is the Antichrist).

Even the spelling hasn't changed from the Antichrist Bible
to the KJV. (except the KJV1611 has the REAL MEANING
that is BAPTIST and non-RCC).

Isa 14:12 (KJV1611 Edition):
How art thou fallen from heauen,
||O Lucifer, sonne of the morning?
how art thou cut downe to the ground,
which didst weaken the nations?

Translator's Margin Note:
|| Or, O daystarre.

This notation means that the following is a
perfectly good reading moving from Greek to
Early Modern English

Isa 14:12 (KJV1611 Edition, alternative):
How art thou fallen from heauen,
O daystarre, sonne of the morning?
how art thou cut downe to the ground,
which didst weaken the nations?

Please pray for the 5-year-old & her parents.
5-year-olds are going to have problem when old
men can't even agree.

//When I was first saved I read the NIV I then
found some serious mistakes in it. When ...
and I found 16 complete missing verses.
I threw it in the trash.//

Unfortunately, I don't see how you could not have
found those verses IF YOU READ THE NIV,
they are there in every NIV I've ever looked at.
To bad you tossed it, I betcha it was there.

Here is the crosswalk.com on-line NIV:
Looks like the so called '11 missing verses in Mark' are
found right in the NIV:

Mark 16:9-20 (NIV = New International Version)

9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping.
11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country.
13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.
14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.
16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
17 And these signs will accompany those who believe:
In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18 they will pick up snakes with their hands;
and when they drink deadly poison, it will not
hurt them at all; they will place their hands
on sick people, and they will get well."
19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was
taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere,
and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his
word by the signs that accompanied it.

There is a note in my Paper copy which tells the exact
truth:
// [The earliest manuscripts and some other
ancient witnesses do no have Mark 16:9-20]
//

But the verses themselves are there in the NIV.

The NIV actually did nothing that the
KJV didn't do. Two of My Paper copies of the KJVs.
have the translator Footnotes. The first one in the honest
KJVs, on the very first page, I might add, Reads:

Matthew 1:11 (KJV1873 Edition):
and *Josias begat Jechonias and his
brethren, about the time they were carried away
to Babylon:

*Footnote:
Some read:
Josias begat Jakim and Jakim begat Jechonias

This footnotes means that the KJV translators had
more than one source and the best reading is that above.
Here is the second Best reading:

Matthew 1:11 (KJV1873 Edition, alternate):
and *Josias begat Jakim and
Jakim begat Jechonias
and his
brethren, about the time they were carried away
to Babylon:

IMHO* it is deceptive to ignore the Translator Notes -
this is usally done out of ignorance (not knowing) by
people unskilled/untrained in Bible learning/reading
skills.

*IMHO = in my humble opinion

I borrowed and watched Hovind's "The Garden of Eden" DVD (#2 in series) last night. It is basically about how the Earth may have been very different pre-Flood (size of plants and animals, length of human life, etc.). I liked what he had to say, but then I'm not as familar with this subject matter. He always end his videos with a Gospel message/plan of salvation.

First, if you're in agreement with Hovind about the TR/MT then you're not gonna like the NIV, NLT or a couple hundred other versions based on eclectic Greek texts. At least Hovind admitted that the translation effort was good (the problem, as he saw it, was that it was applied to the wrong underlying text).

Second, if you're view of good translation methodology is literalness, then you're not gonna like the NIV, NLT and many other dynamic versions, or the paraphrasic approach to representing the text.

BUT THANKS FOR ASSUMING THAT I DIDNT READ THE BIBLE. Ill have the list of missing verses from the NIV later this week when Im back home from work and I can look them up.

Anybody who has figured out how to use the 'search' feature
on this board can find where those verses are listed.
Anybody who realises it has been a year or so now that
Google has made their own copy of pages on the
BB (bapatist board) so search Google
using the line:

"phrase words" site:baptistboard.com

I used:

"missing from NIV" site:baptistboard.com

Even if one finds a page that is no longer on BB,
it might exist in the Google cache.

Here is the one I found today:

--------------------
G. A. Riplinger and fundamentalism - Page 5 - BaptistBoard.com

[SIZE=-1]I mean how do you justify 16 verses missing from NIV, Jesus being demoted the blood being removed, fasting being removed the NIV and NLV saying Jesus fell ...

Anyway, I can't find a list of 'missing from the NIV' verses there.
But they aren't missing from the NIV.
I'd question the source that says they are missing,
which is incorrect.

// ... KJV isnt perfect but its the best version

The KJV is copyrighted by the Crown of England
(currently Queen Elizabeth). She gets some money
for every legal sale of a KJV Bible.
Recall though that one of the reasons the USofA
rebelled against the Crown of England (in 1776 it was
King George the III - he got a pound sterling for each
KJV sold back then) This was one of the unfair
taxes -- It was about a months wages went
to the Crown of England to read their Bible.
Needless to say, the favorite Bible of the rebels
was the Geneva Bible or else the Bishops Bible
NOT the King James Bibles (KJVs)

Needless to say, the rebels didn't pay their taxes.
Fast forward to 2007 - liars spread the untruth
that the KJV has no copyright.

So I ain't going to give no honor to any King
Save my King: Messiah Jesus.

Here is a short summary of stuff about the NIV
-- all lies. Recall According to the NIV the author of
Lies is the lead devil

// ... [SIZE=-1]Jesus being demoted ... //

A LIE. Jesus isn't demoted by the NIV

// ... the blood being removed ... //

True but DELIBERATELY deceptive.
A 'blood' is removed almost 24 times
if one compares the KJV1769 Edition to the NIV.
However, this is the 'blood' of animals, not of
Jesus.

Blood is used in the KJV1769 Edition:
447 times in 375 verses.

Blood is used in the KJV1611 Edition:
451 times in 378 verses.

As can clearly be seen, BLOOD
is removed 4 times in the KJV

we popularly use: the KJV1769.

Blood is used in the Geneva Bible, 1599 Edition
437 times in 369 verses.

It is clear that the KJV1611 edition adds
BLOOD 14 times
.

and those KJV Translators knew what
the Geneva Bible said (but 'added' words
anyway)

Rev 22:18 (Geneva Bible, 1599 Edition):
For I protest vnto euery man that
heareth the words of the prophecie of this booke,
If any man shall adde vnto these things,
God shall adde vnto him the plagues,
that are written in this booke:

Doing word counts is a rather foolish occupation.
(it has nothing to do with Revelation 22:18-19)
But I sure would think twice before I'd lie about
what I found or try to deceive others with it.

DUH - adding and subtracting words in
translations is not a problem, some folks say it
with lots of words, some with a few.

Modern Greek 'ohee' (only in Crete where I learned,
it was pronounced 'oshe') means English words like:
hi, bye, 'i hear you', ok, 'i'm still here', 'yo', etc.
So translations of 'ohee' can have 1,2,3,4,5 words
depending on the meaning. Conveying meaning is
not done by word count, letter count.
In fact, I have an argument here somewhere that
such counts are DIVINATION - prohibited by the
Old Testament on penalty of DEATH
(i really ticks God off, divination does, you know).

abomination = ticks God off (in the streets, it does)

// ... fasting being removed ... //

A LIE. Fasting is still right there in the NIV.
Have you practiced fasting lately because of
the KJV?

I know the 16 verses that are in question; I've studied them all individually. When you look at them, you'll notice that the vast majority of them are not crucial to any doctrine, or even to the immediate passage. I have personally concluded that more than half of them were clearly additions to the late Greek manuscripts that were used in the development of the TR. Some scholars would say that all 16 are interpolations, but I think that at least one or two of them probably are orignial.

Sorry, sports fanzz, but Kent Hovind is a charlatan on the order of Aimee Semple Mc Pherson, Wm. Marrion Branham, Erik Von Daniken, dan Brown, or whoever else wrongly divides the word of God and wrongly mixes it with science fiction.

The tax-evasion charges against him & his wife were NOT baseless. in fact, he was given more of a chance to correct himself than mosta US woulda been given.

Any association with Riplinger, unless she was designing his kitchen, is another black mark against him.

Finally listened to the u-tube entry cited on
the OP (opening post). I listened until he
called the early 1500s the 15th century.
Sorry the 15th century starts in 1401 and ends
where it gets its name: 1500.
the early 1500s (1500 to 1550) only has
one year in the 15th century.
This is simple English & a bit of arithemetic -
it is not like it is rocket surgery* or brain science* :(

(Note for the Humor Impaired [HI!]:
should be 'rocket science or brain surgery'
the fancy reversal is very humorous,
sometimes)

The KJV is copyrighted by the Crown of England maybe dont know havent looked into it yet but it has no US copyright. If you take your NIV and preach out of it using more than 200 words its against the law unless you have written consent. The KJV has no such restriction.

liars spread the untruth

but you do if you buy a NIV maybe not england but someone gets royalties thus the copyright
