I remember Bo Jackson being the essence of athleticism when I was younger? Why do we never hear of or from him in athletic discussions today?

    Why isn't he a color-analyst (at least)?

I would guess because of his speech problems. Bo struggled mightily with stuttering early on. Though he's gotten better, I think he still has to work hard at it.

I saw him in a movie several years ago. It was a John Grisham adaptation where Gene Hackman (I think) goes to the gas chamber. I think it was called "The Chamber." It was anti-capital punishment, so the movie didn't resonate with me, which is why I'm so fuzzy on the details.

Should it be assumed that any well-known athlete can do commentary, even "color analyst?"

I remember watching the Hiesman ceremony, he was there. Bo Jackson was good people. I was watching that game when he went down with that hip injury.

Short career(s) due to injury leave one with not much to talk about. Isn't great that we don't hear of him. I mean most of the time we hear of retired athletes is when they are picked up for some nefarious reason. Good for Bo for flying under the radar in that respect.

    Good point.
I hope he has stayed out of trouble. I think I will do a little research on him.

I always like the "Bo Knows" commercials.
He was certainly of a fading breed of multi sport athletes.
