    1 Kings 9:11 Then He said, "Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord." And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.

    Numbers 22:26 Then the Angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left. 27 And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam's anger was aroused, and he struck the donkey with his staff. 28 Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?" 29 And Balaam said to the donkey, "Because you have abused me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you!" 30 So the donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden, ever since I became yours, to this day? Was I ever disposed to do this to you?" And he said, "No." 31 Then the Lord opened Balaam's eyes, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand; and he bowed his head and fell flat on his face. 32 And the Angel of the Lord said to him, "Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to stand against you, because your way is perverse before Me. 33 The donkey saw Me and turned aside from Me these three times. If she had not turned aside from Me, surely I would also have killed you by now, and let her live."

    A small tree TWICE. A big fish. A bowl of oil that didn't run out. Dreams. Angels. A fish with a coin in it's mouth.

    God used MANY different ways to speak to people in the Bible. How does He speak to us today?

    Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
    2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

    Amen Dan, and through my prayers He speaks his WILL to me which is really the same thing.

    He speaks but often there is no-one listening....

    I believe that the Lord speaks to people today through lay Christians, pastors from all Christian denominations and missionaries.

    Our witness goes out to the lost and to saved people through the Word of God, which is the Bible.

    I do not think that any member of the Godhead has deleted the gifts of the Holy Spirit found in I Corinthians 12 & 14 or healing in our day unless some like Martin Luther wanted to throw out the Book of James calling it a 'book of straw.' Spiritual Elders in Christ church still anoint the sick, when physically, ill Christians ask them to minister oil and the fervent prayer. [James 5:13-16] The Apostolic churches and believers will not deny this blessing from our Lord.

    Through my wife....oh, if I'd only listen to her, well, my life would be so-smooth! [IMG]

    Seriously, he does speak through her, and others, of course. He speaks through people, both believers and pagans, He speaks through circumstances, through trials and difficulties, through nature...but most of all through His Church, His Sacraments, His Word, His Spirit.

    God speaks all the time. The question is, "are we listening?"
