I have registered and have a Login name and password. Obviously I can post a topic or a reply, but that is all. I can't vote in a poll, I can't edit my profile, I can't preview my post because it says I am not logged in. I log in again and it says "Thanks for logging in" but I still have no access to the polls or my profile or the preview option.

I deleted all of my cookies and temp. internet folders and it still doesn't work.

Whenever I am on the BB, it says on the top left of the page, " You are not logged in. Login or register." Even after I give it my name and password it still says that. Does it stay there all the time?

Do you have any insight on how I might be able to correct this problem.I really enjoy participating in the BB but I would like to take part in the polls as well.

Your suggestions are welcome.

Pastor Bob
P.S. We had four men saved at the county jail this morning! Praise the Lord!

Bro. Bob, I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your computer, but if you talk to her kindly and treat her nice, she'll respond in kind. ;)

Well, as long as you can start a thread, you can also participate in polls, post answers, etc. You don't have to do anything else. You are only restricted to post in certain forums if you are not a Baptist. You may need a password to the Members forum, and definitely the Men's Private forum (requirements of which are: 50+ posts, 18 years or older, etc.) You may not ask for the password to the Women's Private forum (but you knew that one already).... When you are able to post on the BB (as you have done above), the line on the left should say: >> Hello, Pastor Bob 63 [log out]

I can post threads and reply but nothing else. I can't do the other tasks. When I try, it tells me that I need to log in. I have never seen the words "Hello Pastor Bob 63 [log out]"

Something is wrong and I don't know what it is or how to fix it.

Pastor Bob -

I checked your account and the computer says that you should be able to perform all of the functions that the site allows. Obviously, there is a fluke in the system. We are upgrading soon (a week to ten days, I believe) and hopefully this will correct your problems. There are other bugs happening with the current system as well.

On behalf of the administartion, I apologize for the problems you are experiencing. I'm sure the webmaster will do what is necessary to correct the problem.

I will make it a point to e-mail you after the upgrade and check your status.

Clint,
I still have no access to any features other than simply replying to posts or adding new topics. I cannot edit a post, edit my profile, vote in polls, or anything else. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello Brother Bob -

We were going to update sometime ago but received a report that the new version had several bugs in the system. As soon as they are sorted out, we will go forward with it. I'm sorry I can't be more definite on the progress.

The webmaster also checked your account and found the same thing I did. We are aware but as of right now, helpless. Again, my apologis and we will keep you informed.

- Clint

I understand that the webmaster suggested deleting all cookies in your computer. Have you tried that?

Yes Sir,
As far as I know I have done that. I'm not real knowledgeable with computers so I very well may have left something undone.

Hi Pastor Bob -

Since I do not have your e-mail address and you do not have Private messaging available, I will tell you here how to do this here. I am only familiar with Windows systems, perhaps a Mac user may want to give instructions on this as well.

Go to "Start" on your computer and left click.
Go to "Settings" and then to "Control Panel" and left click .
Go to the icon called "Internet Options" and double click.
You will see a button that says "Clear Cookies" about halfway down on the page called "General" under the heading "Temporary Internet files." Click that button once and follow whatever prompts may come up.
You will have to log back in to the Baptist Board to post.

I hope this helps.

Brother Bob -

I just sent you this e-mail but I am going to post it here as well in case anyone else encounters this same problem.

It occured to me that you may have your computer set to not accept cookies.

I am assuming that you use a windows system. Try following this set of instructions:

Go to "Start" > "Settings" > "Control Panel"

Double click "Internet Options" and click the tab marked "Privacy"

Move the sliding dial to "Medium" by grabbing it with your cursor and clicking and holding.

Click "Apply".

If you have been set on anything higher, your computer has been refusing your log-in cookie.

pastor bob,

if that doesn't work, you may want to try either upgrading your browser or using a different one. i've done that sort of thing a lot, so i'd be happy to advise you/walk you through it if you want.

if you need it, i'd really like to help you so don't be shy.

Thank you, that solved the problem. I feel like I'm really a part of the team now.

am ha'aretz,
Thank you for your offer to help. And thank you for the kind remarks in the "KJV Only" thread.

God Bless You,
