So thats what they call um, huh Wally???

    Sermonettes?? For Christianettes???

How do you "pack" a 25 minute sermon into a 75 minute service???? You've got 50 minutes there where the preacher doesn't have to do nothin'!!!! Hummmmmmmmmm, sounds like somethin' I need to check into!!! [IMG]

First worship service -- 8:30 am to 9:30 or sometimes 9:45 (esp. with Lord's Supper)

Second service and first tier of SS -- 10 to 11, maybe 11:10 or 11:15 once in awhile

Third service and second tier of SS (different SS classes than first tier) -- 11:30 to 12:30, sometimes goes to 12:40 or 12:45 if there are baptisms and/or Lord's Supper

    Saggywoman,

*g* You reminded me of that joke about the pastor that said there will be no excuses for missing church on sunday. Beds will be provided in the foyer for those who need an little extra sleep, food will be passed out for those who don't want to stay because they might miss lunch, there will be ear plugs for folks to use during times they don't like the music, there will be a rebuttal time for those who disagree with the preacher, there will be babysitters for parents of young children, and nursing staff on hand to assist the elderly who think the pews are too hard. Blankets will be provided for those who are cold, and fans for those who are hot. ;)

In the summer, we have worship only (with coffee & cookies before and after) from 9-10:15-30 - depends on what is going on. Otherwise, we have:
    SS 9-10
    coffee & cookies 10-10:30
    Worship 10:30-about noon.

    Dr. Bob,
I like that lineup. Heard it before (or something like it) from Doug Philips and "Vision Forum". I have always thought Sundays would be a bit more relaxing and "Day of Rest"-like if we would scrap Sunday School (I know-- ANETHAMA) and get rid of the Sunday Evening Service. (Double Anethama!) However, I really do feel people would love the Lord's day even more if they were allowed to worship and not race the Presbyterians to the "Ryan's Stakehouse".

In heaven, I won't have to do all the things that require my time here, like go work.

    Sunday School 9:30
    Worship 10:50-1:00
    Evening: 6:00-7:30
    Awana: Wednesday 6:00-8:00
    Mid-week: Wednesday 7:00-8:00ish

The Sunday music service lasts about 45 minutes. Even if the song service lasts 20 minutes, the pastor would still preach until 12:30. Sometimes when the Asst. Pastor closes, he'll preach for another 10 minutes in his prayer.

I am somewhat frustrated at church right now. Lord change my attitude.
