I can't find what you are
refering to, though i looked through
this topic. I do note that
IN AWE OF THY WORD (A.V.Publications, 2003)
by Gail A. Riplinger has exactly 1200 pages.
And she does say things in it that indicate
she had no clue about the relationship
of words and the messages they convey.

For example, Riplinger never indexes her books
even though there is good indexing software.
Indexing is done by words. It helps those
    interested in a particualr subject
(say the meaning of Psalm 12:7 which even
has it's own current topic on this forum)
rapidly find the material. No index means
you have to wade through 1200 pages, which
probably means you will never find it.
Her sort of books encourage ignorance
    (not knowing).

LRL71: "I've also been PM'd by KJV0nlies because they didn't like something I said in one of my own posts."

If you would put your e-mail address in your profile,
then you could get on some KJVO junk mail lists ;)

We started discussing the book IN AWE OF THY WORD here:

    http://www.baptistboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/4/1976.html?

but the conversation died out for lack of interest
    among the MV users.

Does it have the "studies which have proved" that the KJV is easiest to memorise?

Ed's talking about Gail Ripplinger, C4K. I seriously doubt that you will find anything more scholarly than something written on the back of a McDonald's napkin...

My point exactly - there will not be a scientific study in there proving that the KJV is easier to memorise.

In my opinion the KJV sounds "more Biblical" from years of familiarity with its passages. In example, the 23rd Psalm just doesn't read right to me in many other versions. However, I don't read the KJV on a regular basis as I prefer the NASB and am growing more comfortable with the HCSB. I think years of learning make the KJV "sound right". Bruce

I am the Cubbie AWANA Director at a church with 1,200 members and have to agree with this 1000%! I do the 'listening' and will explain to each child what their verse said. Most parents choose KJV but I'll see a word marked through with the NKJV word written in by the parent. </font>[/QUOTE]Back in the day, I spent a few years working with RAs. I found it was very difficult to get the kids to do memory verses (we were using the NIV). Finally tracked the problem back to the fact that the parents weren't even studying their Bible, so it wasn't a big priority for the kids to learn their verses. It seemed around here that the kids were just too busy with other stuff (i.e., sports practice). It is refreshing to hear that you actually have parents concerned about the spiritual well-being of their children. Keep up the good work.

I notice Providential still hasn't posted his "documentation" that the KJV is easier to memorize. Hmmmm....seems he hits and runs in his posts. Another "cloud without rain"?
