How many people are still in the office buildings downtown?

There may be some surprises.

Consider this: If you work in an office building and refuse to evacuate, you could subsist on the 5-gallon drinking water bottles and vending machines in these buildings. Some people working in those buildings may not have wanted to go blend in with the herds of people in the Super Dome or Convention Center, but maybe chose to ride out the storm in lower floors and once the flood waters came, moved up stairwells to upper floors.

There could still (theoretically) be several hundred or even thousand people holed up in the office buildings downtown NOLA.
