Unfortunately I have to leave, but I would like to know the answer to the cluster conundrum. How is it that wine is always alcoholic, when the bible says that new wine is inside a grape?

a grape will ferment if left on the vine too long. The juice inside of this grape is alcoholic. Insects get drunk from eating these grapes.

Because that's where new wine comes from. webdog is right that grapes can ferment on the vine, but that's not how I understand the verse. It's like saying there's good steak in that cow. It's true, but you still have to cut it out, trim it, season it and cook it.

A great illustration of God decree. He has foreordained everything that comes to pass and yet we still must go out and do things. We still have to preach the gospel to the lost. We still have to work for a living etc.

I didn't know that. I found this video from Animal Planet, though.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYuIYNaKynI

It's very interesting. Monkeys got used to alcohol from fermented sugar cane. Then they started stealing drinks from the local outdoor bar. Not all of them steal alcoholic drinks - some reject alcohol and steal normal drinks.

The same percentage of monkeys as humans reject alcohol. The same percentage of monkeys as humans drink in moderation. The same percentage of monkeys as humand are drunks. The same percentage of monkeys as humans think the rest of the monkeys aren't saved. Okay, I made up that last one.

I suppose the sky is the limit---but I do have an experience I will share

While a teenager-----momma had bought a big jug of Welch's---well---I got to drinkin' it---and just couldn't get enough---kept going back to the frig for more---4-5 nice cups of it

About 30 minutes later----I found out that grape juice is some sorta related to prune juice---ain't they cousins to each other???

Grape juice is good laxative if you don't like prune juice

    :type:

It's illegal to hunt in vineyards in a lot of places because the birds get drunk and can't fly.

BTW, do they make a prune wine?

This is true!! If any of you have fruit trees----especially Pear or Apple---I've seen it in Fig tree, too

Some of the fruit falls to the ground and gets rotted---Red Wasps and Yellow Jackets will work themselves into a frezzy---its interesting---watch the little suckers---they'll fly(stagger) around like "Otis Campbell's" of the insect world!!!

So the birds and the bees get drunk off rotten grapes, and that is the blessing found in new wine in the cluster? Do ye really believe that?

Christians are are to be "temperate in all things". I Cor. 9:25.
Yes, gluttony should be considered when a church chooses a leader.
If you are asking how sinful can you be and still be a deacon, you should probably not be a deacon.

That was not my point. My point was if the verse in question is talking about grape juice, how much it too much?

The point is that it makes no since as grape juice and maybe that is why it says wine.

Yes, gluttony is just as sinful as drunkenness,
