So after the new Marriage laws in Ca have been in place, our state is out of money, we have wildfires springing out all over the place, drought, and what other news I haven't gotten to yet....Conscidence? What if these "prophets" were more "Christ-like" than "Prophet-Like" and revealed God's glory by lifting one of these issues in the form of a miracle?

You ran out of money and have a state wide drought in just a few weeks?

    Haven't you always had wildfires?

So you dont believe that God punishes nations any more? I am not saying that He is, but is it a possibility?

Fred Phelps is still an antichristian hatemonger using religion as a cloak for his personal depravity.

That doesn't mean that California isn't "reaping the whirlwind" for all that they've sewn for decades. Problem is, we'll have to pull their "burnt" behinds out of the fire (literally and proverbially) because the Liberofascists in Washington will tell us it's the humane (not to mention politically correct) thing to do.

Fred Phelps just happened to be very vocal (and visible) about what he believes, but you'd be surprised if you can read the hearts and minds of those in Christendom how many churches, and individuals, may think like he does.

That is not to say that his style is right. It is not.

He better not be gloating. God does not look kindly upon prideful gloaters. And there does seem to be an expression of self satifaction on their faces.

    love,

Concerning judgement of a sinful people, Luke 13:1-5 may apply.

"1. There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

I think Jesus is saying not to be concerned about God's judgement of other people, but to be concerned about our own repentence. Just as God provides blessings on both the righteous and the unrighteous, he also brings disasters on both the righteious and the unfighteous.

We should not try to figure out why disasters happens. God's ways are above our ways.
