It depends what the dollar is worth at that time. Now the Canadian dollar is worth ninety cents. In the early seventies the Canadian dollar was worth more than the American dollar. It was worth $1.09. So with that in mind let's call it even and use $1.00 for easy calcualtions. It will only be approximate any way.

$0.33 is one third of a dollar (give or take one penny.

Depending whether you are speaking of an Imperial (Canadian) gallon or a U.S. gallon which is smaller than an Imperial gallon (five quarts to four quarts--using U.S. quarts).

To convert to an American gallon it would be 0.33/0.22 = $1.50 per gallon.

To convert ot a Candadian gallon it would be 0.33/0.26 = $1.26 per gallon.

But remember, your gas has always been much cheaper than ours. I can remember that when it was $0.33 it was less than a dollar American. So even with the conversion, your gas always seems to remain at a cheaper rate than here--primarily due to taxes.

It's $83.4 here, and with the usual discount it is .79.9, which is not bad.
I too can remember those $.33 a gallon days. I never worried about the price of gas in those days.
