if he is a real scientist then he will know that the statements above are true. the greatest witnesses for the truth of the Bible in secular acedemia are the scientits and the historians if they teach the truth.(part of the reason I know this is that I am myself a scientist)

I find that many non believers have been misled to believe that things as comlicated as what must happen to form the smallest form of life could somehow happen on thier own. It is like saying that if I leave my 85 grand marquis parked out back long enough it will "evolve" into a brand new Lexus. Things move toward caos not perfection without Outside Influence.

I do not "win souls", as Dr. Bob accurately put it. I do knock on doors, and use opportunities to speak to others about Christ. However, I do not use any set plan. It often depends on the person's background and what I feel the Lord leading me to do. Trust the Holy Spirit's leadership on it. God knows their hearts better than you do.

But did He not tell us to "go" making disiples?

"making disciples" means taking someone who is a new believer and teaching them to follow Christ! It is not conversion. Only the Holy Spirit can do that.

I am married to a fascinating and highly controversial scientist (Barry Setterfield). He is also someone who seems to be universally loved by those who have met him! I watch him with people and he fascinates me. While we were in the remodel process of this house, I don't think there were too many workmen Barry didn't make friends with. And talk about his work and faith with!

And he did it in ways that seemed to interest and attract them. How do I know? Because we now have a Wednesday night Bible study in our home that he is running and guess who is here? Truck drivers who delivered topsoil and decomposed granite, a cement boss, and one of the electricians wants to make time for it. It also includes a couple who were guests of another couple who are old friends who came to visit us, bringing them along to meet Barry. They come something like 30 or 40 miles one way every Wednesday night just to talk with him in this series he has started on the character of God.

How can you do better than just making friends with the people God has already put in your life? Our lives are our testimonies, but we are told to be ready to give an answer for the hope that we have in Christ. So it is imperative that we know and study the Bible so that we CAN answer questions.

Helen, I agrre with you but you can not deny the going and getting the process started because they need the "hearing". I think it was Paul talked about that.

Oh, I have no argument with that. I have just watched what Barry has done, and he has the most amazing results!
