When I first came to this board, it was to fellowship
on the Internet with others whose beliefs were at
last somewhat similar and to learn about Calvinism.
The first idea was well-fulilled; I have enjoyed the
interaction with the people here SO much.

However, I have taken a couple months away in
order to get a better understanding of who I am in
my Messiah and who I should present myself to be
on this board. I have realized that although my
synagogue is led by men educated in Baptist
seminaries, and it holds to the major Baptists
beliefs, I am simply not Baptist and should not
represent myself here as Baptist. Therefore, I
shall not be posting on Baptist-only areas
anymore and will stick to those which are for
    those of various religions.

My intention was never to cause strife or division,
and I regret any that occurred because of anything
    I wrote.

Thank you, Diane. :) I wish I had the time to stay
around and chat today, but I can't. My family is
going through some "stuff" right now, and I need to
be in prayer for several. I will get back as soon as I
    can. :) Thank you!!!

    Abiyah - Welcome back.

I assume that you are now Messianic Jew - correct?

Obviously the NT apostles were - which means that the leaders of the NT church were what might be called today Messianic Jews.

Notice the distinction between the treatment that Timothy gets in Acts 16 vs the treatment that Titus gets in Galations.

    In Christ,

    Bob

Oh, you are all so sweet! Thank you for the royal
    welcome! :)

I have missed being here, too, but my family has
been really going through a lot of "stuff," and it was
difficult for me to know how to prsent myself here,
havin declared myself of a Baptist-based
synagogue and believing that those ties wery very
solid. In my last days here, I let myself become
embroiled in a discussion I should have stayed out
of, and I admit tha it shook me. I simply decided
that I could not deal with that and family issues,
    too.

My daughter has since had surgery and is doing
better, although she is in a lot of pain. I talked to
my sister, and her husband, who has been having
cancer treatments, is doing better, can taste his
food now, and hopes to be back to work in
September. My sister-in-law had a severe heart
attack, and I am not sure if she knows the Lord.
THey didn't like us to talk about that subject when
we lived near them, but things can change. My
chosen dad is having much-needed surgery this
week, and I am very concerned for him and my
chosen mom. (They are getting older.) And my
cousin -- my cousin needs lots of prayer, and he
needs our God to make His presence very
strongly known. I am admittedly So Scared for
him. And his little sister, a brand new mom, was
    discovered to have cancer.

    What a list.

So you can see why I haven't been around much.
    Life bites sometimes.

But our God is in control! He knows Exactly what
is going on and how to handle it all. Although I
pray and worry, and cry a little for these wonderful
people, He will take care of them.

In answer to the question about my religious
affiliation, perhaps it would be easie to simply
call myself "Messianic," but my religious affiliation
is called "Apostolic Judaism." It differs from
Messianic in that we do not agree with or accept
UMJC rulings and/or beliefs, Gentiles are welcome,
and several other diffeences. Thank you for asking.

Aagain, thank you fo the wnderful welcome!!!!! :)

AbiYAH I find it good you are searching.
Seems you have gone places I have been.
Personally I do not put a Title like Messianic or Apostolic Judaism
on myself. I simple say I am a child of YAH, and so are you.
You keep searching on the Path the the FATHER has shown you.
And think about this Paul was not from the tribe of Judah, so Paul was not a JEW.
Paul was a Benjamite. The word JEW is very misleading.
We should all come together under one name.
The twelve tribes never became one family.
They seperated themselves from each other.
Don't move from one name to another.
The name YAH and the family of YHWH is where you want to be.
    May the FATHER bless you.

In the NT - Paul called HIMSELF a Jew. It became a term used for all Hebrews and accepted as such EVEN by the NT writers.

Not that this is a wonderfully significant point - just a fact about the text and the times.

Not trying to major on an insignificant minor - just thought I would point it out.

    In Christ,

    Bob
