I asked God...

    This isn't new & it certainly isn't original with me, but I believe it bears repeating:
    I asked God for strength that I might achieve.
    He made me weak that I might learn humbly to obey.
    I asked Him for health that I might do greater things.
    He gave me infirmity that I might do better things.
    I asked Him for riches that I might be happy.
    He gave me poverty that I might be wise.
    I asked Him for power that I might have the praise of men.
    He gave me weakness that I might feel the need of God.
    I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
    He gave me life that I might enjoy all things.
    I got nothing that I asked Him for.
    He gave me everything that I hoped for.
    Almost despite myself, all of my prayers were answered.
    I am, among all men, most richly blessed!

    It's an original for me and I'm glad you posted it!

    Answers come in so many unexpected ways. It's pretty awe-inspiring to sit back and reflect on how our Father uses different methods to enrich our spiritual lives.

    2 Corinthians 12:9

    9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness " Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. ​

    Your experience certainly is Scriptural !!!!!
