    I gave my first sermon today, and it was awesome.

    It wasn't the sermon that was awesome, it was knowing that I was delivering God's Word. Do any of you remember when I first joined the BB and had only been saved for a week or so? Can you believe that the guy who knew maybe one verse of the Bible and didn't know much else actually stood up on the pulpit and preached? I find it hard to believe and I am the one who did it.

    To make things even better we had a young girl get saved today. This is one of the kids I have been teaching in Jr. church and there where times that I thought her heart was so hard that she couldn't even hear the gospel. Just last week she and two others had me so frustrated in Jr. Chruch that I didn't know what to do. The Pastor and his wife spent the whole Sunday School hour talking with her and they were not sure if they had reached her or not. I couldn't believe it when I saw her walk foward at the invitation. I know that what happened was all of God. This does show me that God is blessing my work with the kids and me answering his call to preach.

    I can't remember when I gave my first sermon, but my favorite is preaching on the Lord's Supper.

    Brother Bill!! I've always admired your spirituality in the years you and I have been here at the BB!!

    I once heard the late great Dr. Adrian Rogers say this about his preaching

    "You can go out tomorrow morning and find a preacher that can preach the gospel better than I can!!! But you'll never be able to find a preacher that can preach a better gospel than I can!!"

    Praise God! He still saves today! I'll be praying for more evidence of those gospel seeds coming to bear fruit!
