It has now turned into heavy painful coughing and all the rest. I am not sure the fluid in my lungs has gotten any better.

Have you gone back to the doctor or seen a pulmonologist? It might not be a bad idea.

Please go ASAP. You don't want to mess around with that stuff. If it gets worse, consider going to the emergency room.

Go to an ER, it is nothing to play around with.

I agree with the others. Since it's now the weekend and getting an appointment with a doctor will be impossible, I'd go to the ER if you can swing it.

What I think I will do is so long as my fever or BP doesn't spike I will wait till next week to find a doc. If they do then I will run to the ER.

Rev, if you have any family clinics in your area, I'd go to one of them tomorrow.

Our family clinics around here are really good and a few of the better doctors' nurse practitioners work there on the weekends. At least you could get a prescription.

I believe one of my problems is that I seem to be somewhat resistant to some types of anti-biotics.

I'm horrible for not going to the doc, but it's not good with this stuff if it's messing with breathing so listen to everyone and go.
Personally, I use osha root and make it strong and hot, then chew on the root after. It's nasty and you sweat, or at least I do, and it's gross, but it seems to knock stuff out. I combine that with making a tonic of garlic, honey, ginger, and if my stomach can handle it while sick, chili pepper flakes.
Osha, garlic, and raw honey all are good for bacterial and viral crud, but do make sure, if you try osha, to only buy from a trusted place and don't bother with pills or anything, just buy the roots. Stand there and point out the small ones, don't get the big ones.
    Check it out online.
And always, if you're using stuff like this and take meds, talk with the naturopath or doctor to check for interactions and all that good stuff.

Well now, that just adds insult to injury. Exactly what did you do to tick off the devil, Rev? j/k Praying some more for you. It is no fun not being able to breathe.

I get asthmatic bronchitis and it's a BEAR to get rid of (I usually do Dulera, albuterol, medrol pack, a strong cough medicine (can't remember the name), Mucinex, hot tea ALL the time and a Halls on my night stand so I can suck on it when I get a coughing fit in the middle of the night. I was so desperate last year I even tried a hot toddy and decided I wasn't THAT desperate when I tasted it. YUCK!!!

How far along into the flu are you? That definitely explains how you're feeling although the asthmatic bronchitis makes you feel terrible too. Were you able to get Tamiflu or was it too late?

Feel better! No preaching for you! Do you have another person who can preach for you tomorrow? We've told one of our deacons to keep one in the chamber at all times just in case!

Yes I got tamiflu but cannot pick it up till tomorrow. I do not have anyone to preach as I just got here. I am on an inhaler along with several other things.
