To my reformed friend administrators / moderators...this was a joke, no need to edit this with "questioning the salvation of others". ;)

Luke, from what I read here, I do not think you understand free will nor do you understand Calvinism. I would suggest that you might research these a bit more before you comment like this. In fact a lot of this could be done if you were to take some seminary classes if they can be afforded. There are many good teachers out there.

Tom, I'm sorry, but you may be humble, but you certainly cant be as humble as I am. :wavey: I'd say my greatest attribute is my humility. By far and away.

Actually, with your permission, I quietly and shyly announce that I am truly as humble as humble can be. If you do not believe me then just ask me.

Of course all sin is willful sin.I said people sin willfully to answer the false idea that was suggested in this thread that was trying to say that God forced people to sin.....He does not, they sin because they want to.

Exactly, except I'd change the words "they" to "we". If God does not tempt any man, how could any lay the charge on Him that God forces us to sin?

I would like to see some veritable proof on that.

I find this insulting. I always think it is belittling to say that someone doesn;t even know their own position.

I think it is usually a less than genuine remark designed to sting a frustrating opponent.

Ask Archangel or Earth Wind and Fire or Dr. Bob or ANY reputable Calvinist if I am off base in these remarks. If they tell you I am not off base then the honorable thing for you to do is withdraw these remarks.

Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Mat 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Alright everyone....please now leave the Baptist Board. Do not return! MB has now posted the verses in the Bible which say that we are not allowed to debate each other. Again, please leave and do not return! Further debating is prohibited!

Luke, you are not my opponent. The fact that you call others opponents concerns me.

My opponents are the same who align themselves against God and His will, so please do not declare to be my opponent unless that is the side you really want to be on.

If we are Christians, then we are not opponents.

This statement will be touching to some- no doubt. Some will read your words here and feel warm and fuzzy inside and get the impression from your words, coupled with a popular Arminian stigmatization of me, that I am some kind of over aggressive person who picks fights with his brethren. You will then look like a sweet concerned person trying to tame an angry beast- for those who get that impression you will have achieved your goal.

But those who are more interested in facts than feeling warm and fuzzy on the inside will read your remarks and say- The word "opponent" does not necessarily carry with it such negative connotations as Topass indicates. Loving brothers can be opponents in things. Lovers can play tennis and, for that game, with hearts full of love for one another, be opponents.

And then they will logically deduce that your warm and fuzzy remarks seem to be more geared to villainizing me than real warm hearted, concern for me.

It is a tricky ploy that MANY utilize and thereby fool many. But there are always those logical thinkers who say- Wait a minute! Something about that is less than accurate and seriously deficient in sincerity.

The root word for opponent is oppose. The fact of the matter is that though we are certainly brothers in Christ, we have chosen to oppose one another in a debate- we've taken two opposing sides. Now if you interrupt the debate and say, Luke, I need help- then I will gladly help you if I can- and I assume you would do the same for me. But while holding and promoting OPPOSING view points- we are opponents. Nothing in the world at all wrong with that.

But if you can get folks to view me as a bully or fight picker- then you weaken my influence by calling to question my credibility. You, thereby, weaken my ability to persuade open minds of the Scriptural and logical truths of Calvinism.

What will happen is that other "opponents" of mine will come along and say-Luke you do that fine by yourself.

Thus, you will have been successful at capitalizing on a false stigmatization of me to suit your own purposes. Congratulations. But what have you REALLY accomplished?

Correct me if I am wrong- but isn't that the REAL motive for the whole syrupy sweet, warm and fuzzy, "YOU ARE MY BROTHER- PLEASE DO NOT CALL ME AN OPPONENT" remarks?

Luke, thanks for calling me "warm and fuzzy" it has been a long time since I was accused of that by someone other than my wife. WAIT I GET IT!!! Luke what do you want? It seems my wife always wants something when she calls me "warm and fuzzy".

Luke, if you would take notice I do not debate you. In a debate one tries to prove one's point better than the opposing side. I find people tend to win their debates with you just be letting you do all the talking. (typing)

(using my best warm and fuzzy tone) Merry Christmas, Brother!

    Classy, John, real classy.

You know, if you would just apply that rule about not debating me to not posting in response to me period, you could REAALLY rack up some victories!

Seems to me like an old boy from Houston, Texas who has been married for 35 years would be more concerned with his heritage rather than spitting on it, though.:BangHead:

Luke, I know that public info may be exciting for you but when you dry behind the ears and ask politely, I can share more about me with you.
