You've captured my sentiments completely. I was kind of hoping that when the ballot got here there might be another option :).

Ok, I give up, Roger I apologise.

I am used to supporting missionaries through our church that work in Mexico, China, ect, and it struck me as strange that we would need missionaries in Ireland. I wrongly assumed that Roger chose to move there and pastor a church.

As usual, I let my wife read this thread, and she has told me that the Irish have some very mystical beliefs and traditions, and that maybe they havent all heard the true gospel. She says I am wrong, and usually she is right.

    So, Roger, I do apologise.

BTW, I have a habit of reading the links that people post in their profiles, and actually have been reading Roger's blog, and about his ministry. I never doubted that he has a genuine heart for God, or that his ministry wasnt needed. I just thought it funny that it would be called mission work.

Anyway, my wife says I am wrong, and most of the time she is right.

    Please forgive me.

    AJ

Thank you. I have been in a struggling church plant for about 10 years now. We meet in the local community centre in a hall we hire weekly. Folks here have replaced Rome with the euro as their god. I have to admit you broke my heart and cut me deeply with your comments so your apology is especially meaningful. I would appreciate your prayers - our little church plant is really struggling at the minute. Folks here have no use for God or His people.

Now, if you can hep me figure out how I am going to vote I would appreciate it :).

Perhaps your problem is that you view something as "mission work" being a non-native in a place that is third world, and not EVERYWHERE.

Perhaps part of the problem is you don't view your neighborhood, your city, your state, or your nation as a mission field, but instead incorrectly view it as a place that has had their chance. I do recall God stating that he is very patient in waiting for hearts to change.

Then again....surely you aren't serious in questioning whether or not something should be labeled "mission work"?

Well, first of all, i am truely sorry that I took a very sad day for me, and put it on you.

Secondly, since my wife pointed out the apostasy in Europe, I started looking it up, and I am amazed!!!! I assumed (wrongly. of course) that the civilized nations in western Europe were christian, but the research I have found so far indicates a rebellion against the church even worse than we have here in the states.

Sorry, but I am amazed at that. I guess I still think of Europe as the "Old country". and us as the rebels.

I am still reading the websites, and will say more later......but for now, just let me say that I "assumed" what I had heard in church was indeed fact, and I have agree that its time to revisit and mabe amend that assumption.

    Roger,

I am about to move to Brazil right before election day....but I am voting early instead of an absentee ballot. I'm going for Ron Paul, I think McCain is going to get my state, which is Tennessee, but I'm just not a fan if his.

My thinking is, if your comfortable that your vote is not going to get Obama elected by way of not voting for McCain....then pick who you like.

I realise that the thread is shot, but maybe thats okay :).

One example of what we do. We have had an after school kids club for about 10 years now. We just got back and my wife has been teaching about creation. Of the 30 some children there on a small handful had ever heard the creation account before. One little girl told her teacher at the Catholic school that she knew the days of creation and order, and her religion teacher had to look it up! :)

BTW - our ministry photo blog is at http://naaspreacher.blogspot.com

I am leaning toward Baldwin since Alabama is not going to go for Obama.

Normally I agree with you on issues, but your views here on this is atrocious...

WHO are you to question where God wants to send his missionaries...
You are being very prideful here...
And before you condemn missionaries perhaps you should go on a mission trip with them... learn how in the UK, the true gospel is being pushed out... learn how many true churches are being shut down....

volunteer to go over and work with Roger for a week or two... hey, afterall, according to you, you could consider it a vacation.. .and after that come home and apologize to God for making fun of his men!

Ooops., I didn't see your apology before I ranted in my previous post...
We all have bad days... but please don't question God's decision on where he sends his men and women...

    As for the OP...

Better check with ACORN... you may have already voted... 3 or 4 times! lol

But if not, then cast lots... (Just leave Obama out of the possibilities lol)

Ok, I am finished crying. Back to the topic.

How will a vote for Baldwin matter?

Does anyone think that a 3rd party candidate has a chance?

Some say that voting for a "pro-life" candidate is just symbolic and wont mean anything. I have to vote for the anti_abortion candidate and against a pro-abortion candidate whenever I can.

If I vote for a 3rd party candidate, that may seem like a resonable sulotion. but?

If you are pro-life, and against gay rights (I still think that 'rights' is a misnomer), and you vote for a third party, you are in essence giving your vote to Obama.

Why not stand against Obama by voting against him rather than voting "neutral"?

If you dont vote with McCain, then you are giving your vote to Obama.

I might agree - if my state were borderline. I think I have the luxury of voting for my own personal choice because Obama hasn't a snowball's choice in an Alabama August in Alabama.

I would like to vote McCain/Palin, but she makes me nervous and I would not have supported McCain when he considered a run on the Democratic side, so why now....argh....

    What?

    You're kidding.

He's only down by 30 points here.

Waaaait a minute...maybe that explains why the closest we ever get to a presidential candidate is when McCain's housekeeper's second cousin speaks at a $1,000 per plate dinner.

Or, there was the time that Obama's wife's neighbor's dog-sitter did a $50K democratic fundraiser here...

McCain and Palin both make me nervous. I have never endorsed either one, and I wont. All I have said is that Obama is worse, much worse. In this campaign we have to vote on the issues because both of the candidates are lacking??????

By the issues, I mean the party stances. We cant believe the candidates, but we have to believe the party platforms, because that is what gets the candidates elected, and who they owe for being there.

For once, the issues, whether the candidates will back it up or not, are the main issue.

I, for one, think that GWB is very liberal, and is only held in check by the party that got him into office. The party holds the keys, not the candidate, or the president.

Which party do you want in the White House?

LOl....are you comparing Alabama to hell?

My first thought of a comparison with hell would be Texas....but that's just me.

But then are we truly FREE to vote? Or is our vote suppose to follow these guidelines that really force us to vote for one of two people?

If it is our right....then we should have the right to vote for whomever, or not vote at all. To follow this system of we always have to vote, and it always has to be for one of two....that doesn't sound like a right, but something that is forced.

Yes, you have the right to vote for whoever you want to

You can write in my name, or Mickey Mouse, or Donald Duck, but none of us will get elected. So why not vote with a vote that makes a difference?

And in this election, the party platforms carry more substance than the candidates do.

And a vote wasted on me or Mickey Mouse, is indeed a vote for Obama.

I know that "neither" seems like a good choice, but it is not practical. One of the two major parties is going to be in the White House, not Green party, or Constitution or anybody else.

So why not cast a vote matters?
