Although Dr Paisley is not a Baptist he has been a well know and controversial figure in Baptist circles.

He recently appeared on RTE (Irish television network's) Late, Late Show. I found the interview fascinating and intriguing so thought I would share it with those interested. .

If you are interested it is well worth the half hour to view it.

I have not been a huge fan of Dr Paisley, but I was tremendously impressed by him during this interview and by his reception in this country.

What a clear gospel presentation to this needy, needy land.

    Praise God!

I had the privilege of sitting under Ian Paisley when he came over to lecture at the Toronto Baptist Seminary. He had connections with us because of his opposition to the World Council of Churches, along with Carl McIntrye, another Presbyterian, and T.T. Shields of Jarvis St. Baptist Church.

He took his stand long before he was involved in politics. He was, however, at the seat of the problems in Northern Ireland during the "bad" days of the IRA.

He has what one might call a love or hate personality, but seems to have mellowed a little in later years. I couldn't connect with the link shown, but I can imagine what he would say.

Thanks for giving him mention. Brings back memories for me.

    Cheers,

    Jim
