...then what are the implications of this verse?

KJV 1CO 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

NASB 1CO 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all shall be made alive.

NIV 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

ESV 1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

This verse can be seen more clear in Rom 5:12-19.
The key here is harmony. The scriptures in no way support universalism, so one must throw out that illicit idea. The scriptures do support the idea that "all" in Adam have died. The scriptures do not support that "ALL" through Christ will be made alive, but that "ALL" that are "IN" Christ will be made alive.

    Timothy,
Notice the passage you present. ".....so also, (those) IN CHRIST...."

All those who are IN Adam are affected by Adam, all those whom are IN Christ are affected by Christ.

    Hope this helps........

    Hello,

Is this a "That depends upon what is means?" kind of question?

    Well, does none mean none?

Or does no one mean no one?

Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Rom 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Our Lord declares that He has concluded all creation in unbelief that He might have mercy upon all.

"Gar Theos sugkleio pas eis apeitheia hina eleeo pas." Roman 11:32

"For God hath concluded them all in unbelief that He might have mercy upon all." Rom. 11:32
The context of these words flow from verse 5
"But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of men's deeds; else grace were no longer grace."

    AND verse 15

"For if their rejection (the Jews) means the reconciliation of the world, what will their reception be but life from the dead?"
    And verse 25

"There is a secret, brethren, of which I do not wish to leave you in ignorance....partial blindness has fallen upon Israel until the great mass of the Gentiles has come in, and so all Israel will be saved, as is declared in Scripture..."

    "For God hath concluded"=
    Sugkleio=

To shut up together/ enclose (as a shoel of fish in a net.)

To shut up on all sides.

    To shut up completely.

    Sugkleio Rooted In Kleio
    Kleio=

To cause the heavens to withhold rain.
To shut up compassion/ compassion inaccessible to one.

    To be devoid of pity.

To obstruct the entrance to heaven.

    "Concluded all in unbelief"

    All=
    Each/ Every/ Any/ All/ The Whole/ Everyone/ All Things/ Everything.

    Sugkleio in unbelief=
    Unbelief= Apeitheia=
Obstinancy/ obstinate opposition to the Divine will.

    Apeitheia Rooted In Apeithes

    Apeithes=
    Impersuasible/ not compliant/ disobedient/ contumacious.

"That He might have mercy upon all."
    Mercy= Eleeo=

    To have mercy on.

To help one afflicted or seeking aid.

To help the afflicted/ to bring help to the wretched.

    To experience mercy.

    "Mercy Upon All."

    All= pas=

    Each/ every/ any/ all/ the whole/ everyone/ all things/ everything.

    http://bible.crosswalk.com/Lexicons/Greek/grk.cgi?number=3956&version=

"In order that in adoration of the Name of Jesus every knee of worshippers will bow themselves and openly acknowledge with joy, in celebration and praise, that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. This profession and confession of His Lordship shall be open and freely proclaimed, acknowledged joyfully by beings in the heavens, of those on the earth and those in the underworld." Phil. 2:10,11

All in Adam = All in Christ

Are there any that are NOT in Adam?

    All unrighteous.

Looks to me that God is doing the action here - unless you believe that you could do something to change your state of unbelief without God.

    Praising You, Lord. \o/

    Just a note.........
The "IN" in regards to Adam is *universal*...everyone is in this "IN".

The "IN" in regards to Christ, is not universal, and only the elect are in this "IN".

So........the Adamic IN is universal, the IN of Christ is limited to His people.

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

~ Scott, do we still agree? [IMG]

As in Adam all die - ALL IN Adam Die.

So IN Christ ALL are made alive.
#1. ALL IN Christ are made alive - resurrected.

#2. But it is also true that Christ causes the resurrection of ALL - even of the wicked as we see in Rev 20:5-end. By Christ's power LITERALLY ALL are raised - some to burn in the lake of fire (2nd death - 2nd resurrection Rev 20) and some (the first resurrection Rev 20:4-5) to eternal life.

The fact that ALL are raised from the dead - even the wicked - through the power of Christ makes this an especially poor example of limiting "all" for Calvinists.

    In Christ,

    Bob

While not totally, we could probably agree that every person who ever lived on this planet is in Adam, only those who accept Christ are in Christ.

    We would agree with that.
