Have you noticed with some people that it's always the other guy's fault?

To the op. We are going to have discussions here on this board. We are going to have dicsussion about politics on this board. We are going to express, in our conversations, our pleasure and displeasre about politics and polititians. Among our criticisms is going to be our dospleasure of Obama.

If you do not like that to bad. It is not going to change. You do not have to participate in these discussions nor do you even have to open up the threads in this section of the board.

If you do not like it then that is your personal preference. These discussions have been going on long before you got here and will continue long after you have stopped coming here.

I suggest you go back to the Democrat National Convention and tell them your attempt to disuade criticism of Obama here on this board is a complete failure.

I thought it was the democrats that took away millions of people's health care. I don't know a single limited government person who wanted that to happen.

    Very dishonest.

It also reaches a point where talking about it does more harm than good. Only those who have been living in a box don't know where each person on this forum stands on what each thinks should be of primary concern for Christians. With each day it becomes more rude, vile, and hateful.

You can lead a man to water, but if you tell him he HAS to drink, he will stare you in the eye and die of thirst. Each of us has made our position known. I think it's time everyone moves on. Those who will agree, and change, will, those who don't, won't!

The answer is to have a great Awakening, as God has done before in this nation, but also we need to support political leadership that will seek to create and enforce laws reflecting a godly morality!

You seek to divorce the two, but it is not either/or, but both...

pray and preach/teach Jesus is the Lord, and that hope is found in him alone, but also must make sure to vote and to interact with the process to keep this nation morally strong!

the president does influence the Supreme Court decisions for good/bad, and the Congress can make laws regarding rights/morals correct?

No matter what man does to better the country by leading others to Christ. Our country is on the slide to perdition because of apostasy. For every 10 souls saved there are 20 saved souls turning there backs on God. Going back to the RCC .

Again, we can do both as the Church of christ here, correct?

preach and teach jesus, but also speak out and rally against yje lax moral standards within the church and the nation?

it all goes back to the misguided belief that we must seperate the business of the church to just "soul winning", but jesus stated that we are to be light and a preserving agent to society also...

IF we cannot address moral issues, who has the right to?

And also the OP seems to assume that 'showing the love of jesus" means no regards to the borders, sexual standards, morals etc!

The misguided notion is that the Church has been commissioned to do anything other than soul winning. That's the reason we're here.

You preserve by creating disciples who in turn create more disciples who create more disciples.
Address it with the church and the folks you're supposed to be judging. Otherwise, be quiet and share the Gospel and set about making disciples

The current poster apparently doesn't know what I assume.

Jesus said that we are to be the salt that preserves society, and than when we are removed , or else when we lose our influence, culture caves in!

Why can't we preach the Good news, about Jesus, but also address a nation whose leadership has lost its moorings, and a culture that has turned morals away from God?

A reason why culture has turned away from god is to some extent due to the Church adopting anti god practices/doctrines within the ranks!

Whatever. Government exists for the punishment of the evil doer and for the praise of those who do well. Government stands square and true only when resting on the pillar and ground of the truth.

wasn't it george washington who stated that we must be based upon religious foundations and moral standards, and John Adams that stated that the republic will only work under a religious based peoples?
